I'll probably be setting up at the Tanforan show. I might stop by the San Leandro show, though it's never been good for me

Is there additional info on the San Leandro show? Size or anything?

Generally speaking, it tends to be a vintage-oriented show, though it does have its share of modern stuff. More pre-war than any other show in the Bay. Parking is free and usually plentiful. They sometimes have concessions.

There are usually a lot of dealers there from outside the Bay, that you don't see at the mall shows (though I stopped bothering with the World of Sports and Classic Materials shows a while back due to lack of sports cards)

Thank you!

I know that 70T = 70 Tables ;) I was looking for actual size, lots of times the are advertised at 40T and you get there and there are 15 vendors because they didn't sale out. Just wondering if this is usually full, thanks!

There's pretty good attendance by the dealers, unfortunately, a lot of dealers have "vintage" 80's and 90's cards there. There's essentially no current wax there, a lot of 80's and 90's junk boxes, and basically a decent share of collectors from the 80's and 90's who are trying to sell their unsellable stuff.

Granted, there are some true pre-war dealers there as well and some guys carrying memoribilia from the 60's and 70's, kind of an "old school" type of show, if you are into that.

Oh, and multiple "giants, A's, niners, raiders" only guys. yawn.

You would be the greatest biggest no-brainer table there in the history of mankind for modern cards, hands down, to almost quote our favorite Longoria fan.

Re: Nor Cal Shows Thread - NEXT: Nov. 27 in San Leandro

I went to the show. I actually picked up a couple good things, including a T207 Henriksen and some oddball Yaz stuff for my Dad.

It was a predominantly vintage show, as it usually is, with a few decent pre-war dealers. There were also a lot of guys selling the same 80s-90s stuff they've had in stock since the dawn of time. But a couple of those guys even had some fun stuff. A lot of vintage football was on hand too.

If you are mainly a prospector/shiny stuff collector/investor, then this show probably isn't worth your time. But if you build sets, player collections (of veterans/HOFs), or vintage, then it is definitely worth the trip the next time it comes around.

ALSO,
One dealer had a flier for the GT Sports Marketing show. Here is the info:

WHAT: GT Sport Marketing Show
WHERE: Santa Clara Convention Center, 5001 Great America Pkwy, Santa Clara, CA
WHEN: January 7-9, 2011
AUTO GUESTS: Buster Posey, Cody Ross, Jerry Rice, Steve Young, Ernie Banks, Emmitt Smith, John Riggins, Barry Sanders, Joe Namath, Tim Brown, Gordie Howe, more.
