Anyone besides me follow the league? If so let's chat. Interested in meeting a few different fans. I met a couple alumni at a Gophers game:
Kyle Knudson (I believe he played for Brainerd, maybe not, drafted in the 9th round by Twins)
Justin Gominsky (Lunkers, going to be a Junior for the Gophers)
I really got into the league when I found out about the Stingers. I know that 2 of their players, Carter Bell (not playing with them anymore I don't think) and Cedric Pomerlee were both drafted in earlier years.
Have a friend that played Legion ball against Jordan Smith. Man can that kid play! NSIC player of the year. I haven't talked to any of the current players on the team. I was at 3 games this year. L-L-W. We played St. Cloud on the first franchise game and Paul Molitor was there to throw out the first pitch and sign for everyone. Tony Oliva was there last week but I missed him, and Aaron Barber (and Dora the Explorer) were there for last night's double-header against Thunder Bay.
I think Willmar only got into their team when they found out that Smith, a Willmar native, signed with them. He always gets a nice applause. I would watch for him in upcomming drafts.
