First, a bit of background (bear with me a sec):
Last year, my in-laws bought a condo in Puerto Rico in anticipation of my father-in-law's retirement. They decided to spend christmas down there and invited us. We went down for a week and had a very relaxing time. I motivated a baseball trip, and we all went to Roberto Clemente Stadium to see Carolina play Caguas. It was a good game a nice slice of culture. I posted this photo of myself and my son in front of the stadium in a previous thread, but here it is again:
While we were there, we went to a huge mall in San Juan, where there happened to be a baseball card shop. We went in and, collecting HOF autos as I do, I asked about any Clemente autos (not that I could have afforded one with the prices he was asking for stuff). The owner said that he hadn't had one in a long time. He did have some nice vintage Clemente cards, and my father-in-law was itching to buy one. I told him that they were WAYYYYY overpriced and that ebay would be the way to go for that (he's familiar with ebay and has bought stuff there before). We moved on.
Anyway, it was a great week, and my father-in-law told me that I could expect a late christmas gift in the mail. I didn't think that much of it, because he is always sending us crappy t-shirts and other stuff that people give him at corporate gatherings and whatnot. But when I got home today, the fedex guy brought me this:
.

.
This came complete with JSA LOA. I'm pretty stunned right now...
This, along with the recent announcements about Harvey, Herzog, and Dawson, brings me to 196 total HOF autos. But this one is clearly one of the nicest.
Thinking of changing my name to Sandy...
