In my integration collection, an area of particular focus are the players who crossed the color barrier, from their days in the ***** Leagues.

I've been able to acquire some amazing Campanella pieces previously, including a couple of Minor League contracts, a team signed Minor League photo, Barnstorming ball and barnstorming program. But until recently, I was never able to find a ***** League related item.

Over the last few weeks I was able to acquire a couple of photographs. One is a team photo from the 1941 Baltimore Elite Giants, which featured a young Roy Campanella. There were a number of other significant players including Thomas Butts, Bill Byrd and others.

The second photo features Campanella in 1943 playing in the Mexican League with the Monterrey Sultans. This photo was a later printing and came out when Campanella published his autobiography in 1959. While 16 years after the photo was taken, it is still 65 years old. The PSA criteria which divides between photos printed within roughly 2 years of being taken and those afterward (with no distinction if the photo was taken 5 years early or 100 years earlier in the grading system) has pretty much made vintage printings that were printed later a very undervalued area (in my opinion). I believe that an earlier printing would have sold for 20x-30x what this one sold for. Happy to have it, even if it is not particularly valuable. It is certainly rare regardless.

Nice mail day today mainly because I spent the last 3 mail days at the hospital with my 13 year old. He's on the road to recovery now though.

Some Ryan Helsley Rainbow pieces - Yellow Holofoil, Red Crackle Foilboard /199, and Memorial Day Camo /25

1966 A&BC Batman highlights - Ended up with about 45 cards I needed from the various '66 A&BC Batman sets but these two are certainly the biggest cards. They're headed for SGC tomorrow with no high expectations. I just want them slabbed.

Some pre WWI Ogden's Guinea Golds featuring people we all know - These are headed to SGC too with the Twain headed for my PC. The others will be for sale eventually...maybe...haven't decided yet...probably.

Big pickup for my 1900-1901 Wills Sports of All Nations set - This is a major upgrade over the current copy of the Golf card that I have in my set.

1926 W512 #41A (early print) Jack Dempsey - I picked this one up in a trade with our IT guy at work and just found it in my laptop bag again yesterday evening. I'll probably have it reholdered in the new slab.

1911 Royal Bengals Heroes of History Robert E Lee and Benjamin Franklin - Sadly both these are trimmed and very rough overall but they'll make nice placeholders in my set.

1935 Godfrey Phillips Special Jubilee and 1937 Godfrey Phillips Coronation of Their Majesties Princess Elizabeths - Couple more cards from the big lot of Batman and Tobacciana I got in today from Hong Kong.

Early-Mid 80s (81-86) Mariners sweatbands.

I think this was just a SGA item that everyone entering the game got, but the Pepsi sponsorship caught my eye. It is also possible that these were part of the Pepsi Jr Mariner club as well. They always gave kids a package of tickets, a membership card and usually some piece of gear (equipment bag, shorts, shirt, sweatbands, etc).

I do remember having a set of these as a kid. just can't remember if it was from the club or a game.

2000 SPx Radiance Orlando Hernandez /100 -- A poor man's PMG. I understand the foiling pattern is similar. First time holding one of these (or a PMG), quite a nice finish. Had to take it for $12.00 with free shipping.

2003 Ultimate Collection /750 -- Mutombo doesn't have many cards as a Knicks, this is the one I wanted one for my collection. Had to also add the Ewing to complete the pairing.
