I wouldn't say you are wrong, but I am saying you don't have all the facts. It takes a certain type of situation to make the nscc favorable to a venue. They go to the centers that will play ball and allow them to hold the show and profit off of it.

I read those facts on the first page or so. Still totally sucks. I'm sure with a little more work, they could get it done. West coast is pretty large, and if you add tex, az, col, utah, there has to be a few places that would be willing to play. Saying we can't find a place that works, sounds like a weak excuse.

No matter where they go, people are going to have to fly in. Just because it isn't drivable for you or me doesn't mean it's a bad location. Chicago is one of the better cities to get in and out of. This in addition to the other factors at play which have already been mentioned.

I love Chicago and Baltimore was great, too. But for the sake of collectors all over the country (many of whom probably can't afford to pay for airfare, hotel, event tix, AND cards), I think it would be cool if they could find one location in each of the 4 "corners" of the country and rotate between those every 4 years. Maybe Baltimore, Chicago, somewhere in TX, and somewhere in CA? And like others have said, it would be kind of cool to attend the show in different locations every so often so you can make a nice little vacation of it.

Yes, I am sure with a little more work and money it could be done. But why leave a venue where you know you will make money for one where you know you will make less? It just does not make sense for anyone involved. The dealers don't want it, the NSCC staff don't want it, tristar don't want it.

I say just rosemont forever and be done with it.

I have been told they don't want it in Chicago every year due to the suntimes show.

I'm VERY glad it's coming to AC for getting it close to me, and the closer you can get to the collector-heavy MD/PA/NJ/NY corridor is always good for the Hobby. Not every year, but once every coupla years works well IMO.

But having it in Chicago and Cleveland is just too close geographically IMO. Too many potential customers left out by having it in such close proximity.

And I'm with Will, why does DFW not work? Heck, Beckett would probably save so much in expenses they could single-handedly re-imburse the Show for some of the difference...

Tristar could definitely get a deal hammered out with the GRB or the reliant arena. Hell...hold it in the astrodome! They're not doing anything with it anyways.

But Tristar is based down here and they've been doing shows here as long as I've been alive. So I don't think that's the issue. I believe Dallas may be a better option though and isn't Panini based in Dallas? And Leaf?

At least hold it in different locations is all I'm saying. Keeping it up north like they have been doing is really cutting a lot of people out. The people on the west coast collect too and so do the people in the south and southeast. If this is the premier hobby event, shouldn't we all get a taste?

take my word for this, as a long-time DFW native who would love not to fly have hotel bills, etc. the only place DFW has which is a sutiable venue is the Dallas Convention Center and as a rule, shows do not work in downtown locations. Market Hall is also big enough. For vendors. the good things are no unions to goose up costs.

Believe me, if Dallas was a sutiable venue, we'd have been here already. Flights in are reasonable but like I said in that case it is like Cleveland in which too many disparite places for people to stay.

We do now have an adjacent hotel to the CC so many attendees can stay nearby.
