Guys Im writing this as I sit here in my neck brace at home recovering from the two broken bones in my neck I received in a single car accident on my way home from work Friday night. Everything I take for granted day to day has now been brought into much sharper focus. I have been frustrated lately not being able to spend alot of money on cards for my collection but have been able to trade for quite a few as of late and bought a couple here and there in the $30 range to satisfy my itch. It all seems irrelevant now that I am completely immobile but thanks to a miracle can feel all my extremeties and move around as needed. My car was completely totaled in the accident but somehow saved me from more serious injury than I currently have. I guess I am sitting here just writing what is on my mind at this very moment.

While I'm healing up over the next 3 months I will have plenty of time to think about everything that has happened and for what reason. for now I have to thank everyone that has helped and supported me along the way and will continue to. Being here keeping my mind off of more serious things is a great distraction to have as well. I can enjoy other collectors websites and gain some more ideas for my own as well. I do have some new cards to show off and will scan when I get the chance to do so.

It has been a really life changing last 4 days but I think for the better long term. I didn't realize what I do take for granted and now some perspective on it is very enlightening.

Sounds like you have a great attitude towards this unfortunate situation. I wish you the best throughout your recovery.

yeah if everything goes according to doctors plans I will heal normally over the next 3 months and avoid any surgery. of course you cannot plan for complications but I am not going to do anything to hinder this on my part. I want to get back to normal as I have little girls that depend on me.

I think the biggest part of me writing any of this was just that you read about bad things happening to people and always have the feeling of invinciblility. I am here to say that what I took for granted at one time has now been temporarily taken from me and it really makes you appreciate stuff you normally do without thought. Its almost part of healing to talk about it and to find the positive in a crappy situation aside from the obvious facts that things could have been much worse.

unfortunately it was the Mustang.. tough loss for me as I spent 4 years building it to what it was and only took a couple seconds to destroy it. its a material item and can be replaced though which is the only comfort I have from it.

Thoughts are with you as you recover. It's a scary thing to be in accident like that and it does reset one's priorities. Count your blessings, you were unlucky but lucky. Speedy recovery!

thanks for all the well wishes guys.. I will just draw more strength in moments of weakness from the support I receive. I have alot to live for here at home.. namely 3 beautiful girls and a supportive family. my whole perspective on life has been changed forever.. you never know just how fragile it is until something like this scares you back to reality.

this is one of those times where stopping to thank someone or tell them you love them is important. I almost lost my chance to do these things in a matter of seconds. I have been overcome by emotions over the last couple days and writing about it is like healing for me in a way. No more will things be left unsaid on my part.. that opportunity could be taken from you faster than you can blink.

take every opportunity you can to tell your wife, mom, dad, brother, sister, daughters or son's you love them. life can take a turn for the worse faster than you will ever react to it and may not allow you the opportunity.. Don't wait for the right moment because every moment is the right moment!!
