question about the "free card giveaways" that the companies do.

it says "open x amount of packs, and get etc cards" blah blah blah

does that mean that one wuld have to buy the packs from the company
at their booth(s)? or bring them to their booth(s) after buying them from
somewhere else?

I unfortunately purchased a 2009 Topps Albert Pujols Career Best patch card from ufjumper7 off Ebay. Based on his feedback, I had no reason to think it was a fake. After the transaction was done, I received emails from three people, warning me of his shady dealings in the past. I talked to Beckett, they did some research, and concluded it was indeed a fake. I confronted ufjumper7 about it and demanded my money back, which they agreed to do, but did not admit to faking the card. Here was their response:

Wasn't familiar with the situation with the card. Purchased it at a show in Jacksonville, FL.

Return it to:

[removed - mod]

I'll process a refund after I get it. See if I can't move it at the National or something.

Thanks

- ufjumper7

If they do intend to try and sell this at the National, I hope someone calls them on it and puts them out of commission for good. PLEASE spread this information to anyone you know going to the show!!! Also feel free to send them hate mail and if it will help anyone with legal recourse, GO FOR IT!

What is sad is to see all the original great cards they are destroying to make a little bit of money. They wouldn't have made more than $60-70 on the Pujols after factoring in card cost, Ebay fees, fake patch fees, etc. It's a shame...not to mention he ruined a perfectly good Pujols patch card :(

how do you know it was fake?

I found pictures of the original card. After seeing it, I recalled having seen it for sale on Ebay a couple months back. It was #4/20. The one I purchased was #4/20...

It's a shame because he ruined a Pujols patch card, to try and make maybe $60-70...pathetic

The card with the tail patch is the original real one. The card with the Busch Stadium sleeve patch is the fake.

The long national nightmare is over. The post office tonight cashed my last money order, and I can fly in stress free with a fully assembled bank roll. Phew!
