With their most recent loss the Rockies are now 400 games under .500. (2327-2727)
I think by April 25th next season they will be 500 games under.

So last week the Rox actually won two games in a row. Count 'em. TWO! I couldn't help but wonder a little bit...

But of course, they proceeded to lose 6 straight, including getting swept in today's double header versus the Tigers, by a combined score of 21-3.

They have been outscored by 109 runs this season. That's 40 more than the second worst team in MLB.

Hopefully JarJar is watching Nuggets highlights and not the Rockies game because this one is ugly... even for 2025 Rox standards.

Oh god. I just saw the score. I'm turning the radio broadcast on right now!

San Diego 21, Colorado 0. That's the Padres and the Rockies, by the way. NOT the Chargers and the Broncos :-)

You just can't make this stuff up, people.

I thought SD would get 4 touchdowns but some inspirational, heroic, divine, pitching stonewalled that dream. What's next... only allowing 3 field goals??

I saw before the game a headline from the Rox GM: "we've got to get some guys back" :ROFLMAO: Dude, you're losing by 21 a night. Even if you get Ruth/Gehrig back this team isn't going anywhere.

I think the Rockies and White Sox are competing to see who can be the worst team this year.
As bad as the White Sox are they've almost doubled the Rox win total.

The real race to keep an eye on might be Rockies vs Marlins for the worst team ever. Right now their win % is only a .001% all-time difference so if the Marlins can win 75 games this year maybe they switch sides.

Although they've won 2 WS so effectively its already over.

Oh did they? I really didn't know that until I pulled up good ol' FCB.

I understand why firing the manager/coach is done. It's easy and it doesn't cost you much. I know they don't play the game, but it sends a message to the guys that do. And sometimes it works.

Case in point - the Nuggets fired Malone and Booth (the GM) with 3 games left in the season. And lo and behold, that incredibly talented team won its last three games, took care of the Clippers in the first round, and are currently sitting at 2-2 with OKC, the best team in the west. In that case, I totally agreed with that move. That team had been vastly underperforming its potential for months, and the playoffs were coming. And they responded!

But when it comes to the Rockies, I don't think it will make much difference. They simply don't have the players. This team f*ckng sucks.

However, Bud Black needed to go. He is a good guy, but when you have presided over the two worst seasons in franchise history, and your team is now on pace to be the worst team in MLB history, well maybe you shouldn't be so secure in your job? No?

It was time for him to go. Dick Monfort is not exactly known for holding his employees accountable, but at some point he's got to act. I applaud this decision, but ultimately it will have no meaningful effect. With a new manager, they might not break the all time MLB record for losses in a season, but they will still lose 100 games, and it will probably end up as the worst season in team history. Which is really saying something.

It's a shame there's nobody who can fire an MLB owner.

Season saved, they fired manager Bud Black and their bench coach…like it’s their faults
