Did anyone win or make an offer on the Five Star 1/1 auto?

No, the price was too high for me. I have paid less than 1/5th of the sellers asking price for 1/1 Dawson autos. Didn't want to offend the seller with my offer. If my Dawson eBay adversary didn't even make an offer on it then that should say something.

Yes, I received them in the mail today from Topps Vault. I know different collectors have different opinions of Topps Vault, but I love Topps Vault.

Very nice. I would buy Topps vault stuff too but there is one Puckett collector who goes insane for the stuff so I never get anything. For instance I think the color separation proofs of Pucketts 85 topps card went for something like $700 each. No way I am paying that price.

Some Dawson stuff from the Topps Vault has gone for prices that I am not willing to pay either. I was lucky and got those two pieces on a very reasonable Buy It Now price about a minute after the auction went live.

So good to see you on the boards again! I would like to knock some cards off of Dawson's playing career years. There are so many cards that have been made since he retired combined with my 8 year break from the hobby, that I am so far behind in that aspect of collecting that I would love to knock down his playing year career checklist so it might be a little boring but my top 10 list would currently look something like this:

What happened with the 1/1 Knob. 3 listings in 6 weeks ? Did you get it in the 3rd listing ?

Didn't make much sense that it went as a BIN to Probstein where a 10k bidder wins but still gets relisted where same bidder bids again. Just curious if it actually sold this time and if you pulled the trigger ?

Oh that knob lol. Somehow I missed the original auction or maybe the trigger was pulled on the BIN before I saw the auction. The buyer contacted me on here and offered it to me for more than I was willing to pay. A couple days later is showed up on eBay and went for more than I was willing to pay. When it showed up for auction again, it went for a more reasonable price and I put in the second highest bid and it killed me to get outbid by $5 on that card, but there is no telling how high the highest bidder's bid was. These high end cards are generally out of my price range and I have too many holes in my collection to worry about missing out on them.

Thanks, I think the color separation cards are really cool! It used to kill me if I missed out on something, but I have come to terms that I can not win everything, especially since he has became a member of the HOF and the companies started releasing all this "high end" items.

Is that the full set?

As far as I know it was a Stadium Give Away in 1996 sponsored by Royal Oak to the first 25,000 fans. There are no card numbers on the back of the cards. The front does say 1996 Collector Card Set #1 . I have seen a Set #3 sheet so I am guessing there is also a Set #2 and probably sets higher than 3. A 1996 Florida Marlins Schedule would probably list the give aways for that year.
