This one has an interesting story to it. I don't normally voice my displeasure with products, but to be honest, I see nothing special in this year's Black Diamond. On the 2nd day of release, I figured I'd check out a member's case break on another site just to see what the live stuff actually looked like....

I scroll down to "and a 1/1"

low and behold, of all players in the set, in the very first BD thread I look at, lays this.

bdgreen2.jpg

2 pm's later, and this is on the way addressed to me. 8-) I don't know what's with all the luck and 1/1's I've been picking up lately, but it sure is nice. I've been sniped on the other 2 BD 1/1's so it's nice to finally get a fair shot at one. Really have no use to look at a single BD thread from here on out, just need to secure the gold and this product is put to sleep

The new year brought this:

eberleUDYGRCgmmt.jpg

I pack pulled this Eberle and it was laying around ungraded, so I fixed it. And now for the real show and tell, the holy grail of hockey cards ;) :

This particular Vezina RC was just in a PSA 2 holder, but will be slabbed in the near future by SGC, just my preference for my pc. Obviously with a card like this, I could never ever afford a high grade, but this 2 has a respectable front with no creases evident. The back of the card is what makes it a 2 with a old time, but faded stamp and some paper loss. I couldn't pass on this card with the eye appeal of the front and the needed pocket change it takes to get this card. My b-day is this month, so this was considered an early gift to myself.

the Eberle is nice but the Vezina RC is jaw dropping. make sure you share a scan when it's slabbed in the SGC holder.

Happy to post this retail pull out of a blaster today:

Also pulled his YG RC but it had a defect where the foil didn't line up on the card properly. Debating whether UD can replace it.

Here it is, freshly slabbed by SGC:

Unfortunately the front did not bring up the grade due to the flaws on the back with the paper loss and faded stamp, but it still has to be one of the nicest 1's you'll ever come across ;)

After 6 or 7 hobby boxes and another 5-6 blasters, I broke four tins of UD1 and finally landed one ...

The hot streak of winning stuff continues. After an eBay giftcard, I only dropped $20 out of pocket for the newest gem.

Actualy price was about $47 dlvd... and I had a snipe of $105.52 ready to go, so that was a pleasent surprise!

very nice 1/1.

It's odd they numbered those on the front this year.

Yea, I didn't really like that. The base/gold/red are all on the back, but the 1/1's are on the front.
