Nice Tavares rookies. Im gonna buy a bunch of Tavares rookies this summer, i think there is some good deals on his cards now and will be even better in the summer.


I got this Martin Jones auto today (For my Hitmen PC) off of one of my neighbours who needed $5 bucks to buy smokes. Scan lifted from ebay, but exact same card

i agree. i think this summers going to be a great time to pick up this years rookie class.

having not done this in a VERY long time, i have to ask.....when it comes to eBay, how much listing
of hockey stuff will there be when the summer heat is in full swing?

Well there should be quite a bit of this years, especially of the new middle to higher end sets like SP Authentic, The Cup and Ice, since those sets haven't even come out yet.

but my love of BGS9 YG's had me set my snipe higher than i would have normally.

Down to Toews and Stamkos as pretty much the only "name" YG's i need slabbed

Yeah the 3 i mentioned are usually the high end rookie sets, especially for the top tiered rookies as they will be /99's in the Cup and Ice. SP authentic autoed rookies will be more plentiful (even for the top rooks) as they are usually numbered /999, but they also have the patch.auto parallel that is /100. Oh and there is still Ultimate Collection to be released as well.

As far as the lower end sets that came out earlier in the year, im honestly not sure how plentiful they will be in the summer on ebay.

Nice pickup on the Duchene, and again sorry on the Toews fine 9 lol. Anyway, ice, spa, ultimate, and the cup are all going to be pretty high once they are released. However, I think it is somewhat to the advantage of buyers once the inital rush to purchase these runs its course. Hockey sets released once the season's over like this don't usually sell nearly as well as during the season. Stamkos Cup is a perfect example. With the release of these sets, I think the smaller sets like MVP and others will probably start to dry up. I think YGs will still be plenty available though, as they are arguably the most collectible right now.

What are the odds of Tavares SP Auto RC being under $100?

SP Authentic? Well to compare to last years SPA and last years #1 pick, Stamkos, i was at show the week SPA released and Stamkos was priced at $100-$120 and i know someone who bought one for $80 in person. By the time August rolled around, Stamkos spa RCs could be had in the $40's (on ebay anyways) :shock: :shock:

Will Tavares take a similar path? Perhaps, but maybe they wont go as low, as Tavares was way more hyped than Stamkos. I bet they will be above $100 on release for sure.

This is a really nice looking card. What set is this from Dave? I don't believe I have seen this one before.

Bobby it's from the 2008-09 Upper Deck Heroes set. now I need to get the other 8 cards and the Header to complete the set. there is also an auto'ed version of that card.

That Crosby art card is very nice Dave, i knew that was part of the Heroes but have seen it before. Do u have any of the Crosby heroes? I have a couple dubs i could help ya out with.

I still need to get me one or two of those someday soon, atleast before next season really gets going when they start to sky rocket
