weekend post!

finally picked up this gold, second one I've seen in four years:

thunder super rave /25:

intimidation nation (card pops a lot more in person, the foil looks flat in the scan. kind of a weird idea for a subset in my opinion!)

finally landed this--96 leaf signature platinum press proofs--I think they are 1:24 packs but had never seen one available until recently. i'm sure these get misclassified all the time.

Hellacious stack of Mikes! That Starquest HR is huge on my Thomas want list. I've seen one show up...serial numbered 035/100 too...but it got pulled just minutes after being listed.

I never collected Piazza specifically, but back in the summer of 94, I pulled this 94 Bowman Preview out of a box of 94 Stadium Club. It went into this screw-down case that night, and that's where it's been for the last 20 years.

According to Beckett, Mike Piazza has 117 cards depicting him as a Marlin (although most of the cards are post-1998).

of these 117, there are 20 patch cards, most numbered to less than 10 and quite a few 1/1s:

I don't own any, but found an article I read that was published in December 2012 about some collectors who target Mike Piazza cards in a Marlins uniform:

On a side note- if anyone has any Piazza Marlins cards they'd want to move, or show off--- I'd love to hear about them. If anything, I'd like to know where some of the cards are so I can somewhat stop looking for them!

I have a few Piazza Marlins Items, not just cards. I don't know why, but his Marlins cards always looked pretty cool.

hey fellas, haven't posted in a while so thought I would share some stuff that has been sitting in a box and I just got to scanning. busy with wedding and work!

though i've mostly been limiting myself to Mike's 90s to early 2000 stuff and only Dodgers uniform for mid 2000s to present, I make a few exceptions for some GU cards that I find nice looking. this is the first bat plate card i've owned:

Really like the 2001 Home Openers set. Too bad Mike has two different versions in this set, at least I knocked one off!

I'm also going to make a post in the Sweet 90s and Sweet 00's card thread with some other stuff...stay tuned!

A couple of new additions to my PC. first was a a redemption, i paid $180 for the redemption card a few months back which was a lot less than the silver and gold parallels were going for so I was happy. Was hoping the card would show Mike in a Dodgers uniform but oh well still looks nice!

this one looks like a definite candidate to breakout of the slab, when i get the time...

both beauties G...would have loved to nab that thrill but i figured it would fit better with your collection since you have the gold as well.

i did however have to nab this beauty...sorry im sure you were looking to nab it as well.



was also able to pickup a pretty solid copy of the 93 dominator (other 2 copies that were GEM MINT were butchered by BGS) and a prized collections donruss preferred which has a stated print run of 55

beautiful 98 PMG. yeah i was bidding on that one but it went above what I was willing to pay. nice grab!

here's one i just added - had been looking for a while to get one with a nice auto since these 1996 SPx cards tend to have VERY streaky autos. The last BGS 9.5 I saw sold for $500+ offline with a 10 auto.

got this one for just under $200 I think, which is about double a raw one on a good day.
