This is one of the games I have been wanting to watch today. The Houston Texans are always the trendy pick for "This is the year they get over the hump." This year they do show a lot of promise. Their defense was solid last year and if Schaub and Andre Johnson can stay healthy with a running back threat in Slaton their offense could be potent as well.

The New York Jets had a top 10 Defense last year and their offense wasn't bad either with the NFL rushing leader Thomas Jones and Brett Favre. The Jets have parted ways with Favre and now have to lean on a rookie QB.

Slaton is barely going to break 100 yards and I win the contest

Slaton will have 112 yards rushing and 66 recieving, and a TD. Dolphin fan here, but a big Slaton fan.

Reports say "no Kevin Walters" which is a blow to the Texans offense but they are still a VERY potent unit capable of big thing's! I think that Andre Davis will be filling in for Walters this week & Davis did a GREAT job as a #1WR 2 year's back when A.Johnson was out for the majority of the season (put up great #'s). We'll do fine! ;)

I don't know what's worse, the Texans that game, or the fact that I had AJ80 as a starting receiver. I'm very lucky I have a solid supporting cast.

Sorry, but as a lifelong frustrated Jets fan it's nice to be able to gloat a little bit :D

In all seriousness, if anyone watched the game, I would say this is more a testament to the revamped Jets defense than an indictment of the Texans offense. If anyone watched the game, David Harris, Bart Scott and Kris Jenkins MURDERED the Texans O-line and Rex Ryan blitz about 90% of the game. Quite simply, Schaub had no time to let anything develop in the passing game and the D completely shut down the run. I predicted it all offseason and it looks like I could be correct in that the Jets have a top 3 defense in the league this year. They start 6 guys who have been to the Pro Bowl (Bart Scott, Lito Sheppard, Darrelle Revis, Kris Jenkins, Kerry Rhodes, and Shaun Ellis) and have one of the best young linebackers in the league (David Harris). What's more is that Ellis was suspended for today's game and beast Calvin Pace is suspended for the first 4 games, so the unit is only going to get better. They shutout one of the most potent offenses in the league (the Texans TD came on an interception return for a TD) and once you see the highlights, you'll see how hard they were hitting all day.

Sanchez had as good of a start as anyone could have hoped for and looked incredibly poised most of the day for someone making their debut. This team could surprise a lot of people. J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS!!!

Yeah...the Texans O-Line looked like they did back when Carr was playing.I always told everyone Carr was probably a good QB but the O-Line ruined him totally.I think our O-Line today looked like little kids out there against grown men.It was pathetic.Seriously...Jenkins almost killed our center several times and I knew after a few plays Slaton wasn't getting crap either.Schaub never had time to throw much either. In my mind...I don't think the Texans suck.I think the O-Line sucks.Sadly...with them...every year its always something.

Its hard being a Texans fan.Oh well...hopefully they get in a groove. But if the lineman can't get their heads out of their asses...its over right now.I'd prefer them not to start screwing up another QB like what was done with Carr.

I fully agree about the Jets defense, as they literally "owned" the Texans offense! :? The one bright spot that I took away from the game about the Texans performance was thier defense. Although thier defense wasn't up to the level of play that the Jets defense exhibited (which I don't think anyone expected them to be), they held thier own & took advantage of some key situation's & made some plays that were encouraging to us Texans fan's (even if they were playing against a rookie QB)! :D A huge "negative" that was clear as day from the game, was that the coching staff needs to step up & get better control of thier player's (on the defense especially); as there were penaltie's early on that were damn near embarassing to watch (taunting/unsportsmanlike conduct...say what? A Jets WR just made a crucial catch & the guy who tackled him wants to run his mouth to him??? Seriously? :| ::facepalm:: )...I hope the Texans coaching staff is punishing the shat outta those guy's who took part in that foolishness!

All in all I thought it was a poor showing by the Texans, but there was some highlight's which I hope are built on by the Texans throughout this week in practice & brought to the field next weekend on gameday! GO TEXANS!!!! :D

Yeah...that would have been Mr. Demeco Ryans. Not sure what that was all about. It seems the Texans get frustrated too easily and seem to get into these little scuffles. They need to be more focused on their play.Leave all the banter alone.I wasn't too happy about that.
