They still haven't announced the autograph lineup, but who's planning on going? I'm hoping they at least list who will be there, beyond the 5 they have already announced, so I can pick up cards if need be.

I'll be there. I hope the announce soon so I can be prepared.

Last year I has VIP things for season ticket holders, no lines for autos. It was so nice. Too bad I wasn't prepared at all. I went and bought the $5 8x10's.

I didn't even know the MVP zone had existed until I was getting ready to leave Saturday (I had been there all evening Friday and most of the day Sat), even though I would have had access to it. They did a very poor job publicizing it, in my opinion. There was nothing on the website, and if there was supposed to be anything in with the Piratefest passes they mailed, they forgot it. Oh well...

I'd assume many of the players on the Caravan will be at Piratefest, but a formal announcement would be great. I know I'm going to need to pick up a lot of cards, since I have almost nothing of much of the current roster.

Yeah, I only knew about it because that's where they told us to go to pick up our batting practice jerseys. It was so nice for autos.

That's what I would say.

Coaches: John Russell, Tony Beasley, Joe Kerrigan, Don Long
Players: Sean Burnett, Ryan Doumit, Paul Maholm, Nate McLouth Ross Ohlendorf, Matt Capps, Brandon Moss, John Grabow, Andy LaRoche, Nyjer Morgan, Jeff Karstens
Announcers: Bob Walk, Tim Neverett, Greg Brown, John Wehner, Steve Blass

Wasn't Cutch there last year?

I will be there probably Saturday and Sunday. they usually release the autograph lineup 2 weeks ahead of time so it should be this weekend or early next week.

yes Cutch was there last year Mike and I would imagine he will be again this year.

The list you posted sounds about right, and Sanchez and Doug Drabek have already been announced. I would assume that Drabek won't be the only retired player attending.

I always recalled the lineups being announced in early December, so 2 weeks prior is probably about right. Either way, I think we'll be seeing very low attendance compared to the past few seasons.

Not sure how this will or won't affect the signers at Piratefest, but Moss and Andy LaRoche are now both off of the Caravan. They've been replaced by Steve Pearce and Neil Walker. Kind of disappointing, since I was looking forward to meeting the new guys.

Also, I think they shuffled some of the stops around on the Caravan.

I will probably go to the Steubenville Winter Caravan stop for Neil Walker unless I am able to get him at PirateFest.

I'll be going to the Latrobe stop for sure. I was planning on hitting two of the other groups to get Moss and LaRoche, but may pass now that they aren't there.

Just another quick note for anyone intending on going to the Caravan. Andy LaRoche is back on the Caravan, now with the Doumit/Burnett group.

Looks like I'll only be doing the Latrobe stop this year. I'm not big on the new format...not many luncheons/autograph signings compared to past years.

Off topic, but do any of you guys have a PNC Park ticket stub from 8/30/03? That is the last ticket from PNC Park I need for my Andruw Jones HR ticket collection.

On a side note, I am originally from Washington PA. I am still a Pirates fan, but it gets harder and harder every year they stink up the joint. Ownership needs to open their wallets up one year and take a real shot instead of bringing in over the hill free agents every year for cheap. Either that or actually develop some talent with the draft picks they are getting.

I'm mainly hoping to hit Moreno, Karstens, LaRoche, and Parker. I was 3 away from the front of the line last year for Parker when they switched, so I'd really like to get him on the 8X10's I have from last year.

I' pretty pleased with the autograph groups, but I wonder who draw the heaviest crowd this year. I'm guessing McLouth and Sanchez...maybe Doumit?

Andruw: I'll check my stubs this week. I went to quite a few games in '03, so I may have only somewhere.

Would it be possible for someone to get me Omar Moreno on a card? It is unlikely that I will be able to make it to Piratefest this year. I will be going to the caravan locally here (Cumberland) on Monday. I can get Ryan Doumit, Sean Burnett, Andy LaRoche, John Russell and Bob Walk.

I thought of you when I saw that. I picked up the Craig Wilson bat from the same seller.

Great to see you're still around Brad. Are you still collecting anything besides Burnett?

Rob, I'll try to get a card signed for you. I know I have a stack of 82/83 Topps here somewhere, so I assume there should be a few Omar's in there. I was really excited to see him on the list, since he's a pretty tough signature to get.
