It would be even nicer to have a winning team. ;)

Thank you so much for that package. I got I the other day and have a stickie note sittin right here to thank you. I was waiting to post scans but I guess a post from my iPod will have to do. Thanks again!

Did anyone have access to the MVP section last year? Do you need to have the passes in hand, or just give them your account number? I was planning on using my passes for Fri and just buying tickets for Sat, but obviously would like to get autos in the MVP section on both days.

I'm not certain, but I remember they stamp your hand and that is how you get in and out.

did anyone else notice that the starting time for Friday states 5pm but the autograph signings start at 4pm? I guess I will call them early next week if it isn't corrected on the website to verify that it starts at 4 and not 5.

Great to see you're still around Brad. Are you still collecting anything besides Burnett?

Rob, I'll try to get a card signed for you. I know I have a stack of 82/83 Topps here somewhere, so I assume there should be a few Omar's in there. I was really excited to see him on the list, since he's a pretty tough signature to get.

Mark - Thanks man. If you do not have any Omars let me know I can mail some ASAP.

Also, anyone else who needs the guys I mentioned let me know. I won't be able to get Russel or LaRoche on Pirate cards though.

I don't think they did it this way in previous years, but I'm pretty sure those with the MVP passes can get in at 4, while gates open to everyone else at 5, so and the players will begin signing immediately I suppose.

Rob, if you might be able to get Russel on one of the postcards they have at the signings, I'd really appreciate it. BTW, I'll take a look and see what I have for Omar right now. Any preference as far as year goes?

I will get you a Russel postcard. Also, as far as Moreno goes, I just prefer that the card not have a facsimile auto. But if that is all you have that is OK too.

Thanks,
Rob

Do they have much game used product at this event. Were the Pirates selling any of the game used red alternates last season?

Not really but I still love collecting Sean. Now I just need to get this bat signed!

I also collect Polamalu and Anthony Smith in football.

The bat's a great pickup, and a great price. I've been looking for the Just Black for you, but still no luck.

Rob, shouldn't be a problem. I found a small stack of Morenos, so I'll be sure to get one without the facsimile for you.

Matchpenalty- They usually have a nice selection of game used spring training jerseys, as well as jerseys from players that are no longer with the team. Last year they also started putting out jerseys of current Pirates, though I don't recall seeing any of the red alternates last year. I'm hoping to pick up a Wilson this year, if it's not too expensive.

from the Pirate's website...

All Pirates Season Ticket Holders will be allowed early entry to PirateFest on Friday at 4:00 p.m. and Sunday at 10:00 a.m., while all Bucaroo Kids Club members will have early access on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. During these early hours, both groups will have admittance to special player sessions and PirateFest events.

Drabek is only signing until 5:30 on Friday so I guess I will now be going Saturday and Sunday.

Dave,

If for some reason you aren't able to get Drabek Sat, I'll be going in at 4 Fri. I should have a few extras, in case you aren't able to get him. I know the timing on those lines can be very unpredictable on Saturday. Last year I ended up waiting the full hour and a half for the Parker group in a line that should have been around a 40 min wait, because he was spending a nice amount of time talking with everyone in line.

Still not sure what groups I'll be focusing on Sat. Probably LaRoche and Karstens will be the main focus, though I think having McLouth/Drabek and Sanchez in those lines might make them the longest of the day.

thanks for the offer Mark. I decided I am just going to go with the flow and I am taking some cards of different players and a couple of OMLB balls. I am trying for the Drabek group but if not the group after that is Dave Parker, Neil Walker and Andrew McCutchen. so either way I win. after waiting in line for 2 hours for the Bay group last year and missing out I have decided not to get my hopes up and get whoever I can.

Agreed. I was actually hoping to hit the Morris/Parker group last year, and ended up getting Bay. I'm hoping the crowd will be smaller this year after the disastrous second half, as well as having some of the bigger draws like Wilson and Bay not there this year.

If you do hit the Drabek group, any chance you could try and get an extra signed postcard for me of Karstens? He's one of the few guys I don't have, and might end up missing him due to the lines.
