Didn't see one posted already. With Training Camp Fastl Approaching, who's going and where are you going? Post your successes and help others on the board out if you can. I am going to the first weekend of the Jaguars training camp. Going to try and get the following signed:

2005 Game Worn UCLA Jersey #19 Marcedes Lewis
Sports Illustrated with Jones Drew on the cover
And I have some filler cards for me and my step son to get signed by whoever we can!

Only going to be at 2 practices so time will be limited, have some requests already working for others, some on this board and some off.

What are your Training Camp Goals?

I am going to Packers training camp August 1-3, want to get Rodgers on my team helmet and a mini-helmet, want to also get Clay Matthews on a mini-helmet. Also have a bunch of Packer 8x10s I am hoping to get signed.

I am headed to the Texans training camp. Only problem is...they used to have it where you could be pretty much garanteed autos as long as you were one of the first 100 people through the gates. they used to give you a wristband which allowed you to go to the autograph session after practice. Not this year. They are giving you a chance to win one by drawing a ping pong ball out of a bucket. Whatever it says on it is what you win. About the only thing I am hoping for is to get Bruce Matthews on a few items.

Should be able to make a day or two of the 49ers camp in Santa Clara in early August. I have no "goals" for it though, other than to arrive on time.

Sounds like you will be busy. Wish I had time to travel to camps like that. Good luck to you all!

I am glad the Packers training camp is not setup like the Texans camp where not everybody has a shot at the big names, where as at Packer camp you can get the big names if you know what you are doing.

Well...its used to be. The deal used to be that the first 100 were allowed a wristband. All you had to do was get your rear end in line and do it early. The only two things that killed it was the fact that they only allow 1 item per person through the line and they also never tell you until like 15 or 30 minutes before(somewhere in that range) who will be signing that day. But at least you had the chance.

Bad part was though...they had anywhere from 9 to 15 guys at each signing event( never less than 9 and they were always different guys each day) so if you had a few different things you wanted signed...you had to choose just one. And say, for instance, you wanted Andre Johnson on a mini helmet by himself, well that day you had to pick between getting that or getting everybody on whatever item you wanted. But you only get that one item. So you had to choose wisely. The only people coming out like kings were those with kids who could get a team signed item and a few solo items out of the deal.

But hey...you had a shot at damn near everyone. I got 63 singatures last year on my team balls. Plus I gave a friend $20 for a Mario Williams autographed pro bowl mini(he was able to get two so he helped me out) and I also was able to get an Andre Johnson mini signed as well as a Bruce Matthews card.

Problem is...I think they get all flustered over the dealers who bring kids and whatnot. Me...I don't think its a big deal. People could get there as early as they wanted to and nobody was stopping them and on top of it...if you want to wait in line with your whole family for 12+ hours(sometimes more) then are you really getting much in return for the effort you put in? Not really.

ok, so you know how ridiculously awesome it is, lol

if you havent already tried this, and if you can get there early enough, they wont have the gates locked back up and you can probably get down next to the locker room entrance. we did awesome down there before we got caught. i think if we didnt leave our chairs up top, we could have stayed until practice started

Being in Canada, i have little chance to ever get to a training camp and being on the other side of the country from my fav. teams camp (the Colts) and my Favorite player, Peyton, i have little chance of ever getting to meet him or getting anything signed in person... ::facepalm:: unless someone who gets an extra wants to share.....

I am thinking about going to Chiefs camp next week since I have a few days off work. Definitely not a Cheifs fan, but they are the closest to me. Just wondering from your past experiences if it will be worth the 4-4 1/2 hour drive for me to go check it out. Thanks guys.

Have you looked at their website or visited their forums to see what other experiences were? Good luck at Chiefs camp if you go.
