This was left in my mailbox yesterday. I don't know who sent it, but it's one of my new favorite cards :D

[quote="steve-a-reno":2o1033mc]Erich, you're right, tough chipper. congrats! ;)

Dave, one day I hope we both find the maddux/cone. Still to this day mad at myself for not winning one at release. ::facepalm::
That makes 3 of us :o Better get a second mortgage on the house :lol:

Ouch, it will get expensive. :shock: Still can't believe one hasn't been listed again. UD is still claiming it doesn't exist I assume.

...I clearly have these three amounts ($158, $139 and $90 :o ) as sales prices for the Cone Maddux in my "spreadsheet." I did not date the sales but likely from April 2006- late 2006.
That has to be a 250.00 card now. I think we would have to draw straws to see who bid on it other wise it could get out of hand.[/quote:2o1033mc]

...I'd just like to see one surface, might have to let bodisurfa have dibs since it's his LAST card of the dual set. I'm down to 5.....

Sure, if dibs=sizeable cash payoff..... :lol:

Seriously though, I'd love to get to the bottom of what happened w/ that card. Couple sales the first couple weeks of release then never seen again. UD reps claiming it was never produced. I just kept thinking that cone would have, which it would have, decreased the value and then snatched one up, but it never surfaced again. I'd love to just find someone that has one. Speaking of strange things and that set since I collect the duals and the numbers cards, but the maddux numbers /31 has never been seen on ebay. The platnium 1/1 sold, but the /31 reg version has NEVER been listed.

:lol: You guys are funny! It will be an insane bidding war if that card ever pops up!

Scott- I am glad you recorded those sales for the Cone/Maddux. Who knows, it could be the same card being resold. Hopefully not ;)

Steve- Never seen any of the Maddux Numbers cards, platinum or regular. I used to keep track of platinums but i lost the file when my computer crashed a few years ago. But I don't remember the platinum being a recorded sale.

I have some serious questions myself when it comes to the certain cards. There are several cards that "were not produced" that ended up making an appearance. Most notably is the Ryan Howard RC. I've now seen 4 of them. Then there are the platinums (both Decades and Numbers) that hit the market with sticker autos. There are indications that at some point either UD screwed up production, or they re-released some of the platinums.

Anyway, nice Chipper pickup Erich! That is a tough one. Haven't seen one of those listed in a long time.

TBTwinsFan- nice Carew Numbers! Congrats!

...anyone here snag the Maddux/Smoltz CY dual? One of a handful that I need but I just never made an offer.

PS- nice additions Erich!! Love the Ortiz- he will be an even richer man after tomorrow's arbitration hearing!

I love this set but it's maddening that you can't find tins any more that aren't ridiculously overpriced.
I still need the Rice/Yaz dual and the Rice Decade's Platinum.
