Official Washington Redskins vs New York Giants Thread

Another division rival game to open the season! The New York Giants lost a few weapons over the off-season. That one WR guy and Derrick Ward. They should easily fill the void for Derrick Ward, the Plaxico void, not so much. They have a very young WR core but does have promise. Dominik Hixon hasn't stepped up like people thought he would. He was the leading WR a year ago but can't seem to hold onto the ball in pre season. Their Defense seems to be a top 3 D this year as they get back pass rush specialist Osi Umenyiora.

The Redskins have a lot of questions marks, one of which is their QB play. They were caught by the media, trying to trade for Matt Cassel which upset Jason Campbell. This could go two ways, either it sets his butt on fire and he steps up to become the franchise QB they had hoped or it will destroy his career as the started in Wash. This game is going to be fun.

Giants rookie receiver Hakeem Nicks, the 29th overall pick in the 2009 draft, has taken a cart ride after suffering an ankle/foot injury in the fourth quarter of the regular-season opener against the Redskins.

A Redskins' defender landed on Nicks' lower leg while tackling him.

Nicks had two receptions for 18 yards before leaving the game.

As of this posting, the Giants led, 20-10, with 11:03 remaining
