It arrived today! Man that was some quick shipping! Still no scanner, so Ebay pic will have to do. It looks awesome in hand! Oh yeah, it's my very 1st Palmeiro auto card! and it's on card of course :D

Anyone know if these were supposed to be serial numbered on the back or no serial number at all?

Sick card bro. I was a huge Raffy fan until the whole "I do NOT use steroids thing". These days, I could care less about who used and didn't use. I have been thinking about picking up some of his stuff here and there.

Twenty-nine of these 34 cards were randomly inserted into Donruss Update packs. These 29 cards were previewing the then-upcoming 1998 Donruss Signature Series set. Each player signed a slightly different amount of cards so we have put the amount of cards signed next to the players name in our checklist. The five additional cards (Alou, Casey, Jenkins, Jeter and Wilson) were never intended for public release. It's believed that four players (all except Jeter) signed 100 or more cards but failed to return their cards to the manufacturer (Pinnacle Brands) in time for the Donruss Update packout. Apparently, the cards were stored in Pinnacle's card vault, but an unknown amount of each card made their way into the secondary market during Pinnacle's bankruptcy proceeding when Playoff Inc. bought the holdings. It's believed that a handful of the Jeter cards were erroneously sent to Jeter in his 1998 Donruss Signature card agreement (red, green and blue cards for a separate brand). Jeter simply signed all of the cards and sent them back to the manufacturer.

That makes me think they were not serial numbered.

Just an FYI for you guys. I bought from this seller a couple of weeks ago and never received the item. I was refunded full price immediately once I notified the seller. He/she claims to have shipped w/o a confirmation #

In regards to this seller, http://cgi.ebay.com/1999-TOPPS-EARLY-RO ... 19baa9102e, my Griffey Early Road to The Hall Refractor arrived yesterday. I'll have to get a scan this evening.

Glad to hear yours made it to you. Maybe one day mine will be discovered and make it's way to me. My win was a 1999 Topps Chrome Fortune 15 Refractor A-Rod #ed/100. Still looking for it though. Again, congrats.

Meh. Paid $5.25 for the Palmeiro. Oh well, can't win them all. Nth degree inserts tough? I'm guessing common as well.

Find the sets on beckett.com then click the "overview" tab. You'll get plenty of useful basic info and more.

They do usually go for $3-$5 dlvd so you didn't do so bad.

Wow I'm gone for a few weeks and I see I missed a lot in this thread.

You can grab the scans in this thread of the Walker crusades for your site if you'd like.
