Ghumbs said:Just joined the forum after (thankfully) finding this thread via Google. I'm just now starting to collect 90s inserts as it's awesome to be able to own some of the cards I drooled over as a kid. Here are a few of my recent pickups:

Anyone know if there's a case out there that will fit this thing? I'd love to be able to store it with my other cards in toploaders.

Thanks. I actually saw it at the local card show last Saturday. It caught my eye and I asked to see it out. He said, "Now you can say you saw one in person." Good salesman. I asked him what he's looking to get for it, he told me, and I decided to take a look around the rest of the show. Couldn't get it off my mind and I knew I had to have it. I brought some cards to trade and we worked out a cash/card deal.RustyGreerFan said:You sound like me about one year ago. One of the first pick-ups I made coming back to the hobby was that Elite Edgar. Love the Buhner Masterpiece! Did you get that online or in person? I also am wondering what to do with my Griffey resin card.

+1. Awesome card that 1/1 is.ThoseBackPages said:Ghumbs said:RustyGreerFan said:Obviously these rarely go up for sale, but do you guys know what semistars/non-stars generally sell for? I have a feeling I paid "too much", but Buhner was one of my favorites and I knew I wanted it.
imo, no such thing as paying "too much" for something you want, no matter what it is. this is especially true if there is only one of it in existence.
Welcome to FCB!

Also thanks TNP777, good to be here. This thread is amazing and my wantlist is growing rapidly. Except now I see I have to bid against RustyGreerFan on all my Mariners PC![]()
ain't that the truth - I've lost out on two different '97 Flair Masterpieces of Butler. Both went well over $200. The last one was a couple years ago - one blogger was stunned that anyone would pay $250 for a Butler card. I would have gladly paid it if an overseas bidder hadn't outsniped me. I imagine most hardcore '90s player collectors would have done the same.RustyGreerFan said:...All it takes is one other bidder/buyer and the card goes into the hundreds.

So now I just know that anything I end up with isn't cool enough for you :lol:RustyGreerFan said:Ghumbs said:Thanks. I actually saw it at the local card show last Saturday. I love 90's 1/1 stories - there are some doozies out there. Buhner definitely has a following, so I imagine you did okay. This may be apples and oranges, but I paid $75 for my Jake Reed 1997 Flair Masterpiece after the seller failed to sell it on ebay for $150 OBO. All it takes is one other bidder/buyer and the card goes into the hundreds.
I only bid on 90's M's cards that "look cool," so you probably don't have to worry about me. I haven't seen any that interested me in awhile. Burbank has a Z2-Axis, but Buhner's photo isn't "cool" enough for me :ugeek:
