Okay, I know we have been over this before but can one of you guys post a lineup(meaning all three versions side by side) of the 1996 leaf press proofs? I had a silver and what I figured to be a bronze. I saw a gold on ebay from Burbank and I snagged it and I swear to god it looks just like the supposed bronze I already have. Which leaves me wondering if I just wasted $13 on a card I already had. Maybe I already had the gold and added a dupe to my collection or maybe I do have a bronze and I just paid $13 plus shipping to get a gold and a bronze came. From what I have heard, every now and again Burbank is capabale of sending the wrong version of a card. Can someone help a brother out?

I don't have a scan, but the bronze is like a burnt orange and the gold like yellow.

Thanks. That helps a little bit. I am leaning towards the possibility that I have two golds. This may just be one of those things where I have to have it in my hand to figure it out. I just snagged a "bronze" version from burbank so lets hope I get something different from the two staring me in the face.

Just got the scanner working again... thought I'd post some of the stash...

Great pick up for me - Gold (10/10)

Is there a 1999 Upper Deck parallel numbered 1 of 1 as well? For my Olerud list, the versions I get from Beckett are 1999 Upper Deck #149 base, Exclusives Level 1 (#/100), and Exclusives Level 2 (1/1). No mention of a #/10 parallel. Can anyone clarify for me?

Thanks!

- Rod

As far as Belle's checklist is concerned, Exclusive Level 1 is #/100 and Exclusive Level 2 is #/10. Belle doesn't have a 1/1 listed.
the only 1999 Upper Deck 1/1's are these
One of One 1999 Upper Deck 10th Anniversary Team Home Run
One of One 1999 Upper Deck Century Legends MVPs
One of One 1999 Upper Deck PowerDeck Auxiliary Gold
One of One 1999 Upper Deck PowerDeck Most Valuable Performances Auxiliary Gold
One of One 1999 Upper Deck Retro Platinum
One of One 1999 Upper Deck Wonder Years Home Run
P.S. by the way GREAT CARDS! i need the Juan in those.

1999 UD Gold Exclusives were a bit confusing.

Series 1 1999 UD (up to card #255) had a 1/1 parallel gold exclusives. (Rivera was a Series 1)
Series 2 had #/10 gold exclusives. (Belle was a Series 2)

Last year, I found an unnumbered gold exclusive for Grace, who as a first series release should be a #1/1.

The 1999 Mariano Rivera Gold is a stellar card. Kind of stands alone just like him on the mound in that photo. Also like that it is a simple and classy variation from the base card.

My only high-end 90's stuff is Rusty Greer, so here are some fond memories of what I could afford when I worked at McDonald's in the mid-90s:

I went bat poop crazy for 1994 Score. Actually, more specifically, Score Series II. I learned quickly that series I was lame comparatively. Those green-bordered Dream Teams were attractive, but only 10 in the set. And all the Gold Stars in Series I were NL players. Other than Piazza, the studs were all AL - Griffey, Frank, Ripken, Juan Gone, etc. But my absolute favorite was The Cycle. Deep dark blue borders that never seemed to have condition issues fresh from the pack, and a quirky idea recognizing the top five in singles, doubles, triples, and HRs that made for some fun inserts of players that you wouldn't normally see in an insert set and some interesting multi-player cards if they were tied. The case I was buying from seemed to have the HRs so I got the Griffey, Frank, and Bonds/Juan Gone out of packs. Here's a guy that had more real baseball value than he ever had collecting value:

LJCycleBack.jpg

This is another one of my favorite sets, although I think it's a missed opportunity. VERY attractive, but why they decided to put in a bunch of scrub rookies instead of making it a 20-30 card set of stars I'll never understand. Absolutely they should have included Piazza and Salmon since they were the hot rookies, but just think what a Griffey and Frank would look like. This Hammonds (and Salmon) had my favorite color combinations and photos:

More dufex:

I liked some of the Stadium Club foil inserts. I always liked the flame side of Bash N Burn better than the fronts, although the high leg kick on this one is a better pic. And making a set around speed/power combos recognized guys that were fantasy stars, but not hobby stars. Easy to pick up cheap at card shows.

I turn these around backwards in my folder too, because the AL has a more attractive color combo, and often the better player or picture:

Ahh, memories 8-)
