Great Cards Guys. I went and searched my closet for some cool inserts. I found an Arena Stars Michael Jordan 98 Finest. I'm sending it in to PSA. Whats your view on peeling the protective coating?

Never peel. I feel that once the peel is gone a part of the card is missing.

Although for grading, peeling will probably get you a better surface grade.

If it's staying in the PC, I peel. If not, I don't.

I peeled the Jordan. It looks alot better without the peel. Should grade very high.

Nice. I wonder how many of us snagged them when they popped on ebay a couple of weeks ago? I know I snagged mine as well as a few other people. I was worried as hell the postman would just jam it into the mailbox and tear it to shreds. They've done it before on other oversized cardboard packages. I've had three oversized promos ruined because of this.

Mine was from a different guy. Got it for $4.75 delivered. Mailman did warp it a bit, but I've basically been able to fix it.

Love the 98 DLP bankruptcy/prototypes. Just so many unknowns on them.

Anyone else have a base 1998 Pinnacle Certified prototype? Haven't seen many.

Almost! somebody hit the BIN before I could snag the Fryman I saw. Only time I've seen the base version too. It looked to be cut from a sheet as well as it was a larger size much like a proof. Seller was apache-moon (dunno if they still sell I think they are NARU). That's been 6-7 years ago I think, if not more. I've never seen the mirror red (if it exists). I was fortunate enough to grab the gold from Dave & Adams.

Can anyone shed any light on this card? I can't locate it on beckett and not sure if it is serial #/10 or just #8 out of 10 inserts. http://cgi.ebay.com/Albert-Belle-rare-T ... 43a6d75189

Ask for a scan of the back. :^)

Those are showing up for all kinds of players. I think you need to treat those as a custom made card. Not licensed, not distributed in pack or box form, just somebody creating their own cards. Like most unlicensed cards, won't be cataloged by Beckett or SCD.

They are pretty good quality though, might be interesting to add to a player collection as an oddball.

Cool, thanks guys! I figured it would probably classify as an odd ball which is not licensed.
