I just got done opening 3 boxes of the 1998 Collectors Choice series 2 . i did not get any home run starquest. ( i didn't think i would ) i got 1 tripple and 6 doubles, but i did beat the odds big time with this instant win. very happy!

Awesome hit! Nice to see some rare stuff can still be found in old packs! Congrats!

My buddy has a 1998 Donruss unopened box... unlikely, but he could pull a purple/green/red crusade if he cracked it right?

figured this would be a good place to ask this.... can someone school me on the 1998 topps tek cards?

I collected from around 88 up until end 94/start of 95 (pretty much stopped during the strike and after watching maddux finally get his world series in 1995 i dropped out of baseball all together until about 2 years ago....got back into collecting again around a year ago.

I noticed quite a few people on here collect their respective players and are aiming to get them all..seems like a tough one... so what is the deal with them? what is rare/common/more rare/near impossible/

I'm working on 93-98 maddux cards and figure those look like they will be hard with the sheer number of them.

thanks!

90 different patterns of each player makes it very tough. Throw in the diffractors seeded at 1:6 packs, it's a player collector's nightmare. I currently have 89/90 base cards and 20/90 diffractors.

jesus christ haha there are almost more of that card than I have unique cards of maddux right now

any particular way to tell the different patterns other than look? like are they labeled or numbered in a manner to easily tell them apart?

These gold auto's are tough. Only the second Andruw I've seen and the auto is much nicer than the other copy I own
