Some sweet inserts being posted since I was last on last week!!!

Real quick, can anyone shed some light on the difference between the 1998 Pinnacle Plus Team Pinnacle set, difference between Gold and Mirror? Seems obvious considering the Mirror is #/25 (per beckett) but not sure if it is actually serial numbered or if there is something much different between the two. Beckett.com doesn't give any details to how these are different. Thanks!!
the mirror gold's are not serial numbered. they are mirror on one side only. the golds have a foil on one side.so as with the reg, there are 2 versions. the mirror gold i have only seen 3 and all had the mirror on the Juan side.

Good luck in your quest to find these.

Yeah those are tough.. I am not sure what to call them? SCD has them a Mirror Mylar?
I feel like Foil/Mylar or something like that? Anywho the Mirror Golds are only the AL side
so if your looking for an NL player with their side mirrored it doesn't exist or at least thats what I told.

They have a huge inventory and are notorious for selling a lot of their cards at ridiculous prices. They however did purchase a huge private collection of cards a few years back. Shortly after purchasing it, they released a ton of great 90's inserts into the market, some that even at their high prices were deals. I actually purchased a number of cards from them and a few I have never seen since.

Anyways, they can be found on ebay and beckett marketplace.

Good info to have. Thanks!

You don't see these 1994 Fleer Ultra Phillies Finest Autos every day. Darren Daulton and John Kruk both signed 1,000 cards and they were inserted at a rate of 1:11,000 packs. The (non-auto'd) insert set featured each player on 10 different cards. The fact that I've found two of the different poses for Daulton makes me think there's a very good chance that the players signed a random assortment of 1,000 cards. If you assume perfect distribution they signed 100 of each card... that makes 10 different /100 autos at 1:110,000 packs. And this is from an era where /5000 autos were a big deal and a pain to track down.

Cool - good to know. Did they do anything to those cards to certify them as autos? Oops - nevermind. I see it on the 2nd one now. Looks like they chose a good pen to use.

This arrived today. I really don't like ***'s cases and would probably crack it if weren't a 9.5 and the first diffractor graded.

That's a good point, I hadn't thought about that. They definitely haven't faded.

That's pretty. If it were me, I'd probably crack it.
I say crack and degrade with a proper company.

Meh, I don't like these card graded because I have to store them in two locations...making counting harder

It will be in the case until I find a replacement or someone really wants it.

I only have one card graded and slabbed, and it irritates me to no end that i have to keep it in a seperate box instead of in my binders. But I cant bring myself to crack it open either. What a conundrum.

Regarding Burbank - I went on his ebay this morning, and he has no Bagwells when I did a store search. Checking their Beckett Marketplace yielded 2817 listings. And some are HUGE money... This will give me a new place to search at least.

Yea, we've discussed Burbank a lot and it's pretty clear they have a huge lot of cards and especially 90s stuff. As a player collector, they can be your best friend but it's so tough because they price their cards WAY high. I think I counted like 50 Belle's which I still need from them LOL... which is insane considering I'm already over 80%... anyways, it will be a good spot for you to really jump start your own player collection. They give free shipping over $50, so you can always just do $50 purchases at a time and chip away at what they have that you need.

In other news, some really great stuff being posted!!! I was traveling this past week up in the mid-west and ran into a card shop which had a lot of 90s stuff... bought a few pack for fun and didn't get anything but really cool to actually walk into a shop and purchase some packs like the good ol days.

I hit Burbank tonight. Wooooooowwwww..... Went thru ten pages starting with the cheapest first. And with just under 20 bucks left in my paypal, I was able to score 22 cards shipped. I'm happy. But in the back of my mind, the cards I need are just gonna cost more and more...

I started off just making $50 purchases and starting with the under $1 and working my way up. Now most are over $7 or $8 I need, so the # of cards shipped is smaller but same amount. I know the feeling :benson:

^the 1/1 Mondesi is AWESOME! First one from that set I've seen.
