I think the Bronze version is just a variation of how a person scans it or takes the picture. I've got mine to scan bronze depending the angle of the card at the time of the scan or picture. I've had at least 100 of the FPP's and they've all been the same. I'd like to ask someone who has 2 Frank Thomas's in hand just to be sure though, but I've never personally seen any variations.

I have 3 Larkin's and none seem to be a variation of any kind.

Here is my Gold, Bronze, Holographic, and Green variations . . . .. as good as I could get them anyway (obviously, same card, taken 4 different ways) :)

Added some pictures/scans of Thomas. These things really don't take to pictures very well.

I'm not saying there is no chance there are variations, I just doubt it, since I've seen my own FPP's scan very much the same way. I'd like to ask someone that has posted the variation if they have the variations in hand or have just saved pictures from previous ebay listings, b/c all cameras & scanners are different. Also, depends on angle and lighting or lack there of.

Very nice red label!

I've been a bit awol from the board due to recent vacation and work but have a bunch of cards to share (soon, once I scan). I did manage to pick this up a few weeks back, hit the BIN as soon as I saw it:

1999 topps gold label red label class 3 /25 pedro martinez for $19.95 BIN:

Finally picked up another Red Label. It is a Class 2 Red Label /50. Wasn't cheap, but it was still less than what I was willing to go. These cards have been very elusive to me for some reason. It is only the 2nd Red Label I have been able to obtain:

Nice. That makes me feel better about the bronze variation.

Special thanks to Jkeys for sending me these 2 cards. Believe it or not, it turned out I didn't yet have the Star Promo you sent me. I had the Nova and Gold versions of the Promo, but not this one:

Former "white whale." Just when I thought I was done collecting him. #D 5/10 in blue ink on back. First copy I've seen since the product's release.

I see a bunch of these, unnumbered on COMC so I figure these were a popular backdoored item. Digging around online, it also appears that the cards numbered 8/10, didn't receive the die-cut process at top. Weird.

I know of a Thomas collector with the Bronze variation; he's an advanced collector and is aware of the variety. It's a legit variation.

I've contacted him (made him aware of this conversation) and asked him to share the variation on this thread.

I believe it is a true variation as well.

I definitely hope he comes in to voice his opinion on the issue. I doubt its existence, but not afraid to admit I'm wrong if he came in with concrete evidence showing variations. Scans from the internet can vary greatly, so hopefully, he has 2 different Thomas cards in hand to show the differences.

My set came directly from the Pinnacle. I had several good friend there and I never heard discussion about a variation in this set; other sets but not here. Just my two cents.
