picked up the a pair of the 99 tek gold ref maddux "proofs" from the seller that has the "Executive edge" stadium club cards/all the other proofs... figure for $20 on the pair I could buy worse with the money. thought about grabbing one of the gold edged cards along with it since he had them up for $10 still decided not to though

Not a fan of those but glad they're nice. The Belle's have gone unsold thus far and this last time for $10 and now resisted. I'm passing. I'm totally over these stupid proofs but maybe it's because the Topps Vault sent me some BS item and that's put the nail in the coffin for these type of items. I'd rather put $20 towards a legit Belle.

Just my opinion. Sorry for the rant.

leximo is really flooding the market with "proofs" - most just from uncut sheets at various stages of the printing process. His prices are too high, but he gets the occassional hardcore guy so who's to say what these items real value are? Just too high in my opinion - usually printer proofs like these I pay $3-$5 per for Grace.

Funny you posted that - I just got this in the mail yesterday. Bought it off sportslot.com last week.

I've been thinking about going for the set for awhile. I've got Grace, Vladimir, Glavine, Karros and Andruw Jones so far.

And I actually prefer raw to graded. I'm in it for the fun and I can barely notice the difference between a 9 and 10 behind toploaders anyway, unless inspecting for a sub. Would love to get several of the cards from my list in lesser condition than just one in a gem condition.

yeah I pass on a vast majority of that kind of stuff (I have such a huge number of cards of Maddux I need that are pack issued as it is, so no shortage of cards I need) $20 for the A/B gold "proof" fills the gap of not owning a single tek gold maddux for the time being though (topps tek is a can of worms I've chosen not to open yet I fear that once the lid is off it will get out of hand) but for $20 for a pair of them. works for me!

would have rather paid $5 a piece, but still!
