I pulled this card back in 2003 and immediately put it on EBAY.. It sold for $750 and change..

I bought back another one on a $200 BIN a few years later as they are a nice card to have..

Well this one just closed.. $135.26 (Yeah, I know there are 3 roiders on here)

I would love to pick that up for that price! Even if they are roiders, I still remember the hype on that card and it still holds a special place for me. Mostly the Mantle piece on the card.

Interesting. But I wonder how many cards that are five years old now get as much now as they did when they first came out?

LOL, I pulled the exact same card in 2003 also, sold it for $475 or somewhere in that range. I distinctly remember the ones numbered to 25 were selling in the $750 range so you got really lucky to get $750 for yours.

EDIT: BTW this was my copy

I remember what the price guides looked like back in 1997 - 1998 - a huge ouch from an investment standpoint. I guess the same with regard to prospecting?

Well, 1 - it's game used. GU has taken a tremendous fall over the past 5 years.

2 - the GU is boring GU -- plain swatches and bat pieces.

3 - Sosa, Bonds and McGwire . . . these guys couldn't be more cold.

I'd sell all day at $135 if I had the card.

Yea it looks nice, but to me it ruins the bat peice!
Ture, but i'd rather have a more visual appealing card than a blank square :P

That's just me though.
