I think it has less to do with id theft and more to do with asking and going on the line over and over. the distance you drive and the amount you paid in gas is irrelevant to the amount he signs, you wanted an autograph its not like he called you asking for you to drive there. He only has to sign ONE thing and you shoud be lucky he did that not be upset that he wouldnt sign everything you brought him.

From the OP's first post, it seems like they were more than willing to sign a poster instead of the index card. The OP was just a little picky and wanted an index card signed and is wondering what the fuss over not signing one is about.

Are you really that slow? :| I don't recall anyone mentioning the Yankees or Derek Jeter.

I know they don't give a crap how far I drive. They did seem somewhat impressed that we would drive that far but it was not my point. My point was if I was going to sell something then I am certainly not wasting all that time and gas and money to get just and index card signed hoping to somehow recoup my money and time spent.

Besides, we asked if we would be able to go through twice.A lot of the time I am able to do this if there are not a lot of people. And he actually signed two items for the guy in front of us at once so I am not sure they would have had a problem with me going through twice instead of being a hog and holding up the line to get multiple things signed while everyone else waits to only get 1.

Another thing I think you forgot to read is the part where they are going on about me possibly selling them on ebay.None of them mentioned anything about identity theft or anything. All they mentioned was ebay and the word dealer was thrown out there as well. They were quiet when I went up there but as soon as I walked away my buddy said they went on and on about all of that.My whole point to this thread is why the hell anyone would think I am making a dime selling auto'd index cards on ebay? The only ones worth the paper they are on are the ones with HOF or deceased players on them.Add to the fact I wasted all the time and money and its pretty comical that anyone would think that.

And just so you know...I will go through the line 3 or 4 times if nobody is there. Its how I get extras to pass off to other collectors, friends and family. If nobody is there then yeah...I expect to get a chance to get more than 1.If they were just sitting there and not doing anything I think they would look more foolish for saying no than I would for asking.
