Thanks for the "Balky" reference.

I guess we're both showing our age for anyone who knows who we're talking about   anyone care to post a side-to side picture comparison?

Leatherman - I think you were one of the sources of my envy back in winter 2005. You did GREAT! I've noticed the same pattern. Those good cases always had a Drew and Weaver. I also agree with your theory. Topps probably didn't expect the unprecedented demand for 2005 bowman draft picks, so they produced more cases, but were short on autos, so they inserted more SOTF's into the product. I did notice that Rasmus always appeared in the SOTF cases, so at least that was a decent consolation prize. Didn't your bgs 9.5 go to Taiwan? I think I remember that first sale. I was in awe cause raws were going for around $250 at the time. It's also crazy because it was the good cases that drove up the prices on 2005 bdp wax. Imagine us out here on the west seeing prices skyrocket for boxes that 3 out of 4 times would land you a SOTF auto. PAINFUL. $175 for a SOTF auto box, not fun.

You have a pretty good memory too. Yes, not only did the Braun gold 9.5 go to Taiwan, I purchased it from there too! I got up early one morning and saw a BIN for $200 and hit it. Within 3 minutes, I got an email from JP saying "Nice buy." I got it about a week later, shipped it off to BGS, and it was slabbed: http://www.beckett.com/grading/lookup.a ... ID=4070585

I insisted on the buyer paying with an international money order in US dollars, and 2 weeks later it arrived.
