Thought I would piggyback off of the other topic about the Randy Johnson red crusade.

I once bought 5 or 6 Topps Black parallels for about $3 each, including a David Wright and a White Sox team card, at a card show. I remember only buying some of them, and the guy behind me snagged the rest. I made about $80 on those.

Another time I bought a Hong Chi Kuo (I think) gold refractor from 04 BC or Draft for $5. Sold it on ebay to some guy in Taiwan for $62.

Also bought a Griffey press plate for $75 that I later sold for $375.

It's ok, I've had my share of being on the other end of it too....it all evens out in the end.

Nothing huge, but a few extra bucks at the time. Anyone have anything else?

Only one time, it was a hockey card. Theo Fleury BAP Jersey card, I bought for $3 and I sold it for $22. Nothing great but I was happy.

Joe Cronin Jsy card w/stiching. 5.00, later gave to Scotty as he's a collector. Also picked up a Timeless Treasures Puckett Jsy/34 for 5.00. Still have it but could easily be sold for 25-50

Not 5, but just picked up a NM 79 Topps Ozzie Smith RC for 5.99 and 6.00 shipping. Its pretty OC/Miscut, but still a great deal.

At the a show this past weekend, I picked these up in a $5 box:

1998 Upper Deck Retro Quantum Leap #Q3 Nomar Garciaparra #d/50
2004 Donruss Timelines Recollection Autographs #1146 Harold Reynolds 88 #d/65
2004 SP Authentic Game-Dated #64 Corey Patterson #d/1

Before I woke up on Sunday, I sold the Nomar for $40 and Pujols for $10 on eBay.

What are the odds? One of my best bargain bin buys was a Hong Chi Kuo Gold Refractor RC also...

I haven't been to too many shows in the last decade (all of 1 show) but haven found some sweet deals on ebay and have turned those around for huge profit.

Earlier this year I found a Pablo Sandoval EEE auto in a $5 pile. It was just a day or two after he hit a few HRs off the Brewers, so I knew the name. Went home to find out it was his only auto at the time (I realize I'm relating stuff as news that is actually very old news); I flipped that sucker on eBay for $50 DLVD.

Will post up my most memorable that come to mind.....

Antonio Gates Score Inscritions AUTO (1st AUTO) PAID $2 SOLD $80+
Jeremy Bonderman Topps Chrome Encased #d RC PAID $5 SOLD $120+
Oliver Perez Ultimate Collection RC AUTO PAID $5 SOLD FOR $80+
Carlton Fisk 1/1 AUTO/Button/MLB Logo PAID $125 BIN SOLD FOR $350
(3) 2001 Bowman Chrome Albert Pujols RC AUTOS PAID $2K-$2200 SOLD $3500 EACH

Also, not out of a bargain bin or anything, but bought a $5 Racing Pack and Pulled a Ryan Newman Car Cover AUTO #d/12 and sold it for $800+.....also bought 1 pack of 02 Upper Deck Golf and hit a Tiger Woods Shirt AUTO SP and sold it for about $1400 at the time.

Probably my biggest card show successes was a VERY small local show about 30 mins from me that had some small time collectors that would set up (Tables were like $15-$20 at most) and I would pull about 50 cards plus every show out of .10 cent boxes up to $1 boxes and sell them for $5-$20 EACH on ebay......basically paid for all my card money and going out money in college. They had the shows 1-2 times a month. Wish they still had them but I havent seen or heard about one for well over a year, so I think they died off.

Back in 2000, I went to a show and was looking through a $10 bargain bin at different autos and there was a 2000 Fleer Fresh Ink Hideo Nomo Auto. I thought it was in the wrong box, but asked anyway, and the dealer said it was $10. There hadn't been any on eBay yet (product was just released), so I had no idea what it would bring. Flipped it on eBay for about $400. Still, my greatest card show purchase to this day.
