The thing with mock-ups, though... who's to know if that's actually going to be in the final product?

Doesn't it seem absurd how many bat pieces and jersey pieces of Babe have hit the market the past 3 or so years? I mean... it's been A LOT.

In theory -- that's a great card. In reality -- will we actually see the real deal?

The best cut sig of Babe Ruth that I have seen in the past few years actually came from Tristar!

This was the actual card, believe it or not.

I'd take that apart and make my own custom 5 x 7 "cut".
I think the best one I've seen is this one:

#`d 1/1 from 2007 UD Premier

Never seen that Premier. Wow.

I was just shocked that Tristar, the people who brought us Signa Cuts (worst product ever), came through with the Ruth cut.

you can make alot and i mean ALOT of game used cards out of one bat and one jersey...i mean think of how small of chunks they use for game used bats and jerseys on these cards

Two or three cards, a product does not make. Much to learn, you have.

I never said anything like that.

I've reviewed over 40 products in two years and never has one card or even insert set "saved" a product.

I just don't see how this product is getting bashed so hard.

Probably because this will most likely be your $170 box.

Let the wax buyers take their risks. That's what they do.

If I was a Justin Rugianno collector, that would be THE card to own.

Mario, I'm not trying to be a dick here, but don't you constantly bash the
living hell out of DLP for using stickers for autos?

If you were a Ruggiano collector, wouldn't you rather have something on-card?

I don't think you're being a dick. Isn't a message board for thse kind of discussions?

I bash Donruss cause EVERY baseball product of theirs is sticker.

Topps & Upper Deck at least do on-card products every once in a while.

As far as Triple Threads, I have quite a few of them and I love them all. It's player collector heaven. Would I spend $170 on a box? Hell no but there are many who would.

This one is all mine:

Don't get me wrong, I have more than my fair share.
I wish they were not stickers, but what can you do?

SIG.jpg

Thing is, all 5 of those cost me about the price of 1 box.
So, like you said, let the wax busters bust, and the collectors benefit.

WaxHeaven: If I'm not mistaken, that Premier ticket stub auto sold for $40k+

That is correct. What also is really cool is its an actual 1924 WS ticket stub. Here is the actual card that Beckett auctions sold...

 Yup, I'm disappointed with the checklist this year.
In fact, there are no 2009 Dawson cards yet.
