Has anyone noticed that there is only one category for Baseball on Ebay now.
They no longer list any subcategories ex. ( sets, singles, rookies, vintage, etc.).
Guess the listings must of really dropped for them to consolidate everything into one category.
Caused me a headache as i have to readjust all my searches as none of them were working.

Yes, this was discussed yesterday.

Should make your hundreds of auctions easier to list, though.

Actually will make it tougher to list as i use templates and now would have to change all the templates.
Its probably a moot point as im just about done listing on ebay. Concentrating more on website now. Ebay has become just to difficult
an environment to be a seller in but a decent place to buy from.

Oooooo, you will have to let us know what your website name is cause you are one of the people I always purchase from on eBay.

mr. Mem

I've been buying from you for many years. In fact I just received a 2005 Bowman Draft jersey/patch card that I won in one of your recent auctions. In looking at your web site it appears you are only selling commons and not jersey or autograph cards. What venue will you be using for these non-common sales?

Yes , The website is basically all baseball base cards, parallels & inserts as dont have any jerseys or autographs on there.
We actually sold most of our autographs and jerseys in bulk to a customer. We are planning on relocating soon so just trying to slim down and raise cash for now.
Hopefully after the new year we will be able to once again carry jerseys and autos on the website.

Yep. Frustrating b/c saved searches no longer work. Tricks like au* or ref* are NOT bringing up the same results as auto or refractor and auto seems to get more results than autograph. Plus, as a seller, I use templates like you do, so I need to rework those. You can narrow results down by typing say 195* topps, but for broader searches (“lot”, “set”, etc.), I miss not being able to break down searches by years

Btw, if you want to unload your BC/BCDP refractors/xs/blue refs (or any lingering gu/aus) in bulk, please let me know as I’m always buying.

Good luck w/your new site

Chart of changes:

http://pages.ebay.com/categorychanges/sportscards.html

From Net54 . . .

Thanks for taking the time to write to us.

We are aware of an issue with being unable to narrow down the search
results within Baseball Cards. This is not a permanent change and we
are working to resolve it as quickly as possible.

There are many changes in progress as part of the announced final seller
release of the year.
(http://www2.ebay.com/aw/core/200907270812462.html). These changes will
be rolling out during this week and are not yet complete.

As part of this release, the categories within Sports Trading Cards are
changing to the simplified set of sports that you see here:
http://sports-cards.shop.ebay.com/Ca...i.html?_npmv=3

Previously, there was a duplication between the categories (eg
Baseball-MLB > Singles (Pre-1930) > Graded etc) and the Item Specifics
(Sport, Year, Graded, etc), which made it confusing on which to use to
narrow down the search results. Once you browsed to the Singles
(Pre-1930) category, you were still presented with the Year Item
Specifics. We are removing this duplication in favor of the more
versatile Item Specifics.

Prior announcements about these changes can be found at the following
links.

http://pages.ebay.com/sell/July2009U...ies/index.html
http://pages.ebay.com/sell/itemspecs.html
http://pages.ebay.com/categorychanges/sportscards.html

When categories are changed, there is a reindexing of the items that
must occur, and this can take up to several days to complete. Once
complete, your items should be showing in the category:
Sports Mem, Card & Fan Shop > Cards > Baseball (category 213). Until
then, your items should still be found in all relevant title searches.

In addition to the previously available search refinements of Product,
Sport, Year, Card Manufacturer, Card Attributes and Grading information,
we will be adding the ability to refine search results by both Team and
Player where applicable.

Once again our apologies for this issue and we ask for your patience as
we work to resolve it.

Sincerely,
Mahina
eBay Classification Team
