what amount did you come up with during your research?

I was around $15-$18K individually before fees and shipping, etc. I figured them at BIN/BO option to maximize everything and at least give me control of the offers what they go for.

I guessed on moving at a lot for around $10K-12K-giving up 2-3K as room for profit for the buyer.....

Since I dont really NEED the money right now, and with the holidays, I am kind of agreeing with everyone that this would be best to put them on individually and wait till March-May sometime to move them.

I am merely trying to figure out what I want to do....

Wow nice, I always wanted that score mantle but I am sure its out of reach at this moment (plus what do I need several mantles autos for  ). Thats a very impressive lot you got there. I am looking forward to losing on most of them on ebay

Yeah, I used to have 3 of them, one was faded so bad you could basically only see where the card had been signed by the pen indents, one was actually a bolder AUTO then the one I have graded as a 10 now, but it was a little rough with chipping on the back borders and corners.....and funny I actually got more out of that one than I did buying the BGS 8.5 w/10 AUTO slabbed.

I noticed that they are extremely prone to fading, I suspect its from the lights in card cases at shops from being exposed for so long. But none the less its a authentic mantle :D

Yeah, I had a card fade on me really bad, it was a Nolan Ryan 00 UD Hall of Famers Jersey AUTO---ever since that happened, all of my cards are stored in 2 inch thick screwdowns and put into boxes and then into my home/gun safe.....and honestly, I rarely take them out. Only about 3-5 people (2 of them board members) have ever even gotten to hold and see them, lol. They dont get taken out very often.

Gee Tim... I feel honored to be one of the chosen few to be able to hold them!!!

As for my take on what you should do... Hold onto the precious ones that you don't think you'd ever get to see again and sell the rest. If I know you right then you've got the card biz in your blood so it won't be easy to break away from it. It's like being addicted to drugs sometimes...

To me, there are six cards you should keep.

Hank Aaron APOH Auto #/44
Tiger Woods Auto/Worn
Walter Payton Auto
Magic/Jordan/Erving Triple Auto (Assuming it's ON CARD)
Albert Pujols 2001 Bowman Auto
Ruth Triple Game Used

These are the six I would keep, if only for long-term investments.

Thanks for all the opinions....you are really close to what I am thinking about doing indymann....though the Payton and Pujols were not on keep list only because they are so easy to locate pretty much at any time. And yes, the Jordan Triple is on the card--thank god because it would just look hideous with stickers...

Mark--you have gotten to hold them a few times actually---dont think you ever dropped them so I will probably let you sold of them again...maybe!! And by the way if this is any indication today of how are weather will be all winter, I would cancel the table at the Peoria show...

WOW, that got changed to spam really fast, lol...I dont even have them listed anywhere to spam..........

Oh well, I think the general consensus is to split everything up...which is what I was wondering. I know I could easily get $10K for them as a lot together, no matter how crappy the economy is....

Now I just have to decide whether I want to really sell it all--which I would be out completely because I would never be able to get this stuff back let alone even find it---or do I sell everything but the Aaron, Dimaggio, Lebron, Tiger, Payton, Jordan/Magic/Erving, 6 player HOF Auto, Mantle, and Williams......

What to do, what to do...

Can we face facts here? Even if you sell it all, you'll be back. This is like the 5th time in the life of this board where you've said you're selling everything and getting out.

steve-o-reno just said the same thing, lol. I dont know, if I sell this stuff for real, the actual good stuff that I have held onto for so long, I dont think I would be into it anymore. It is damn near impossible to find the older non-sticker auto stuff anymore, and I am 99% sure that I would never see any of this stuff again to buy back. I didnt see any of this kind of stuff at the last national either--it was just vintage or new shiny sticker stuff.....it just isnt out there anymore.

So, if I do decide to move this stuff, I am out......not saying I would still come by and say high, but I would have nothing to scan for you--unless you can scan bobble heads from the 50s-60s and HOFer signed baseballs, pucks, footballs, and basketballs...cause that is all I would have left, lol.

Now, not even 24 hours later you are buying more!!

Face it, you arent getting out...
