1st off,i will say that Michael Jordan is the best basketball player i've ever seen. With that said,i never seen Chamberlain play, but with all his records and achievments,i could see where people who have seen him play would say he was the best of all-time.I had a conversation with several older people who saw him play and they say that Chamberlain was the best ever.

I was wondering is there anyone here who saw Chamberlain play? And if not,can a arguement be made for Chamberlain?

I'd take Russell over Chamberlain every single time. So as far as that goes, Chamberlain isn't even #2.

My Dad gets a vote. Being from Philly, he saw both in their Primes. And he saw Jordan single-handedly beat MY Cavs every year. :(

He goes with Wilt 'cuz there is just no way to describe how much better he was than everybody else. Plus, my Dad points out how much his pure Athletic ability (ran track at OB and KU) helped him and the lack of Defensive rules hurt him. MJ played MUCH better players and still dominated for a Decade plus though.

Personally, I'm one of those guys with no problem just saying they're all Top 5 All-time 'cuz there is no way to measure guys who played so far apart.

The three mentioned, Robertson and Magic make a heckuva Start to an unanswerable Question IMO...

Does that help?

I'm a Cavs Fan also, and will always say that the 1992-93 Cavs would have won the Championship if they would have got past the Bulls!

This is an absolute no-brainer.

As great as some of the older players were, they didn't face 1/10th of the defensive opposition that MJeff did...and he still dominated the league
