I'm getting ready to put the 1961 Yankees' autographs above my desk in my computer room. Should I:
1. Put all of the players who played at any time during the year in it?
2. Put all of the players who are on cards in Yankee uniforms only, plus index cards?
3. Put just those players who played (on roster) for the 1961 World Series in it?

Your opinions and rationale are appreciated!

I'd go for the '61 WS roster. I'm imagining it would make a clean, focused display.

I would go with option 2. I think the uniformity of having the players all pictured in Yankee uniforms (or IC's) will make the piece look more clean. Also, without having too much knowledge of the '61 roster, I would think there may be some key role players over the course of the season that may not have made the postseason roster. I suppose my logic in doing similar Pirate projects has always been that all players that player a role during the regular season had some part in getting the team to the championship, even if they weren't on the post season roster.

Either way it's a very impressive project, and I'd love to see pictures when it's put together.

I'm going with those who played in the '61 Series. The other Yankee cards will be posted elsewhere, anyway.

you should get a huge picture of the field from behind home and have it shadow boxed so you can put the autos in the frame in their respective positions. It will cost you some money but would look TIGHT.

I'll have to check and see who the coaches were that year. Might give it a try!

That's an awesome project. I'm having a hard enough time going for the 98 Yanks. I can imagine the level of difficulty associated with the 61 Yanks. I like option 2 as well. There are surely some key players who made a difference at some point in the year who hadn't made the WS roster.
