Hey I'd pay fifty bucks for it just so I can say I own the worst card Topps ever made.

Looks like the stupid cuts Tri-Star and Leaf put out all the time. Hell, some of the Tri-Star cuts of Murphy I've seen are AUTOPENNED signatures. Absolute garbage.

Even worse than the Seaver, which I didn't like...

Unless the guy who pulls it is named Larry, then it's AWESOME!

I'm not even going to check, but I'm sure a McCarver auto on a 3x5 could be had for 10 bucks. He may even sign Ttm for free.

This is such a horrible fail by Topps.

Not to belittle his achievements as a player, but does Murphy get THAT many auto requests?
Murphy's TTM signatures were autopenned during most of his playing days. That's probably where the cuts came from.
He actually signs his TTM requests now that he's long retired.

Couldn't have said it better!

So...
1. Fleer card in a Topps product
2. Personalized to whomever Larry is
3. All f'd up window/angle
4. One-of-one! And sure to be an eBay 1/1!

In the 80's, he was arguably one of the top players in the game and had a huge fanbase being on TV everyday. He was one of the first players to use autopen. About 3 of every 4 TTM requests back then were autopenned. They are a piece of cake to spot #1 , because they all look identical and #2 , because the "pressure points" caused when the pen stopped, lifted, and pressed back to the item being signed are very distinct.

Not discrediting any of that...I remember seeing him on TBS when I lived in NC as a kid.

Just saying there were players just as, if not more, popular...and I feel like the autopen thing is kind of weak.
