They walk 2 batters then hit another to load the bases......Bring in Danny Baez and he promptly gives up a grand slam to Jim Thome who KILLED the ball (wait until you see how far he hit it on Sportscenter). Orioles just suck!!!!

/end rant

in about 2-3 years there gonna be serious contenders. They got some young arms developing in the minor leagues to along with the lethal lineup
only thing is the rays, red sox and yankees will also be contending.

Weiters is 0-4. With 8 LOB.

Ground out, ground out, fly out, strike out. At least he put it in play three times.

Not sure why teams still keep giving Baez chances, he's sucked pretty much his whole career.

Didn't he have one good year as the closer for the [then Devil] Rays?

I think he did which is why the Dodgers let him be part of a trade, I think it was the Edwin Jackson trade. I could be wrong. But he has sucked since.

i was at the game and it was awesome! i was hoping the sox could get to berken early and often!

it was nice to get to see weiters and beckham play...since it was basically batting practice for nine innings id have liked to have seen poreda pitch as well. lots of young players to enjoy seeing...jones, reimold and getz...getz has some wheels! i know pods has speed for a white boy but getz flew down the first base line to try to beat a grounder to izturis and i was impressed. all in all i really liked getting to see the young talent in person on both teams (especially the orioles since they dont come around too often).

wise cannot play center...there was a ball hit over his head and he misplayed it off the fence as well (then ran into the fence on another catch that echoed in the whole park lol). he obviously cant hit either...i mean its a slugfest and you get the collar? AND he was up with bases juiced and he Ks. lame...we booed/heckled him appropriately. quentin get better soon!!

the relievers certainly did help keep it an interesting game with giving back run after run to the Os after building up a lead. jeez after thorton gave up those 3 runs with no outs i was like here comes another comeback... ::facepalm::

all in all the game was phenomenal! i was wearing my thome jersey sitting in section 119 and i got to see the first homer fly past my section and the second BOMB from a great vantage point! it was nice to have been at a career day for thome (most RBIs in a game for him).

oh and of course...PAULIE went deep as well!! :D

go white sox!!

side note: the guy that sat behind me was one of those baseball "know it alls" that commented on EVERYTHING like he was in the booth with hawk. when the lights went out for fireworks night i seriously debated on punching him square in the face and asking him to comment on that. lol

my family has tickets to todays game (they didnt go with me yesterday) so im a little jealous. :( im working side jobs all day anyways so not like i could make it.

to reiterate...go white sox!!

oh almost forgot...we dont have an awesome digital camera by any means, but my gf got a cool pic of weiters on first with paulie holding him on and she got one of paulie rounding the bases from his homer. i gotta get her a good camera for better quality pics (like a stronger zoom).

All I can say is Thome is like a fine wine, he's getting better with age.
I have him on my fantasy team and he rocked for me

With 14 RBIs in his last three games, Thome increased his career total to 1,545 and passed Harry Heilmann and Willie Stargell into 41st place on baseball’s all-time list. His previous single-game best was six; he did that four times, most recently at Baltimore on July 6, 2006—which also was when he had hit his last grand slam.

NOTES: Thome also drew his 1,605th career walk, tying him with Darrell Evans for 11th all-time. … It was Thome’s 43rd multihomer game. …

I'm a Mets fan who lived in NYC for most of my life, now living in Maryland, the O's are the American League Mets. Easy as that.
