The Orioles should at least consider starting MEGA-PROSPECT Dylan Bundy. Your three options outside of Chen on three days rest are essentially #5 starters.

Rangers hitters haven't seen Bundy and scouting reports are limited. With his talent, he could run off 4-6 (maybe more) scoreless IP in a hurry. Keep him on a tight leash and have all of the other starters ready to minimize the risk.

I'd rather use him as a long man the second Steve Johnson or Joe Saunders gets in trouble and keep Johnson/Saunders on a VERY short leash. But I doubt Bundy will even be on the roster.

I'm sure DB will be on the roster. This counts as a playoff round, so he can reset the roster afterwards (not sure if he's even eligible--I'm thinking he isn't).

Steve Johnson has been great so far. I wouldn't be shocked if we have a 15-17 man bullpen available.

The only pitchers NOT available for these games should be the 2 that would potentially start the first 2 games in the next round if they win. Everyone else should be available and ready to go.

So basically copy what the Rays did with Matt Moore last year in Game 1 of the ALDS....except the stakes are higher

Terrible idea. If it goes wrong for Bundy it could damage his confidence. It disrespects the pitchers that helped you win 93 games. It's unfair to Bundy, as his teammates will hold him responsible for "blowing it." Finally, Showalter will lose respect in the clubhouse if it doesn't work.

I quoted this a week ago when there was a thread about the possibility of seeing bundy in the playoffs (it was on mlb.com):

Bundy's promotion will last at least the rest of the season, according to executive vice president of baseball operations Dan Duquette, and the youngster could be eligible for the postseason roster if needed as a replacement for an O's player on the disabled list.'

I don't think the O's placed anyone on the DL recently, so i think he is not eligible.
