He has nothing to lose by trying to improve his draft stock 3 years from now. At one point he was a rumored Top 10 pick and one would imagine his family had a target price and started getting some advance loans based on hope.

Mychal Givens is one of the nicest, most respectable, intelligent, and polite young athletes on the planet. This is very well known in Tampa among all of his peers. I have spoken to people who marvel at what a wonderful kid he is.

Giving up college is a HUGE; TREMENDOUS decision. Don't you think it's slightly ridiculous to say that he's a dick because he wanted to attend college, perhaps because he wants to make sure he has a fallback, just in case his baseball career doesn't work out?

I wouldn't give him any more then slot. Maybe 100-200 over.

In three years there's a chance he will be a top 10 pick, but way to much risk for what he probably wants.

Man that sucks I thought he'd sign. I've still got one of his USA on card autos if anyone wants to purchase it/trade. Should have sold it with the other ones he was drafted.
