OT: Anybody see Gran Torino?

I was just wondering, because I saw it recently and I thought it was great. I'm also a big fan of Clint Eastwood. :lol: It's always fun to see a 78 year-old man kicking butt. You might see some flashes of Dirty Harry in it. Gran Torino is up for a Golden Globe for best original song. The National Board of Review has Eastwood up for Best Actor and the Nick Schenk for best original screenplay. This could very well be Clint's last movie.

I recommend that you guys see it. Eastwood fan or not. If you saw it already..let me know what you think.

I don't want to give anything away, but I really enjoyed the movie. I told some friends and family to see it and they liked it as well. IMDB has Gran Torino with a rating of 8.3/10 which is pretty good.

I saw the movie last weekend. Some scenes the acting was horrible but overall it was awesome, 4 out of 5.

I saw the movie in Long Island as it was only shown in selected theatres. Good movie horrible theatre

I havent seen it yet but will without doubt get it once it hits BluRay. I'm by no means a Eastwood fan, however classics like GB&U as well as The Unforgiven (to name a coupple) are among my favorites. Could of done without the Dirty Harry movies though, but I digress...

What didn't you like about 7 pounds?

The only positives to this movie was the acting. But the movie seemed to be trying too hard. The first few minutes you can guess the plot easily. I think this movie could have been on Lifetime...maybe if they had a different director and some screenplay revisions it would have reached its potential. But sadly, it falls short.

1. Don't use your phone while driving. It is Bad. 2. Sign up for an organ donor program. It is Good. 3. If you cause someone's death, you will feel bad. You will be hearing lots of sad music played out of tune. 4. Soap operas at least come divided into merciful portions of 40 minutes/episode. This pretentious full-of-itself cinematographic torture went on regurgitating 3 worn out cliches for 2 hours.
