I use an HP Pavillion Entertainment PC. Had it for over a year now with no problems. If there were problems, its nothing I couldn't fix manually. But I do know how to fix almost any problem that may arise. So do many on the boards.

If you did have any problems, I'm sure I and others here would be more than happy to help you figure it out.

right now, keys are broken. if my tying is bad, that's why. there are small chips on the computer. apple has cool products, but they are made very poorly imo. i am very careful with my ipod and iphone, but both have had hardware problems more times than i count.

I think Toshiba makes a laptop that would work for you. It's called a Toughbook or something like that. Supposedly more rugged!

I bought a Toshiba Satellite A205-S5859, consumer reports remarked that if you want a Mac but dont have the money go with Toshiba, so I did and I could not be happier!

Toshibas are great, I have a A205-S5814 which I have been using for nearly a year. I believe it is a similar model to yours, but just a few months older.

I have heard that the IBM/Lenovo ThinkPads are very durable, but have no experience with them personally.
