My wife can't remember what it was called, but she's dying to know for reasons of nostalgia. She seems to recall that it was a platform-type DOS game that revolved around an ancient Egypt theme. She thinks the protagonist was some sort of archaeologist. There were barriers that needed passing through; she remembers three red buttons that needed to be activated in just the right order to open a door, for example.

You could crawl up and down ropes, there were occasionally conveyer belts to walk on, and lots of critters to avoid. She seems to recall having access to some kinds of tools, too - maybe special jumping boots?

Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Make at least ONE wife actually LIKE that we spend too much time on this message board.

Could it be Challenge of The Ancient Empires? Pharaoh's Tomb? Prince of Persia?

None of those i guess.

She claims it was her "favorite" game as a kid, yet she can't seem to give me many helpful details :?

No, none if these either. Now you guys see how frustrating it is.

Therion- i think you know the game she's referring to. 1990 era, DOS-format; stuff like that.

Talking about Paganitzu?

I'll have to ask her if this is it.

The way she descrides it, I bet I've asked her over a dozen times if she's sure it's not Prince of Persia. She talks about "conveyor belts and having to do one thing to make another thing happen so you can move on "(<-THAT'S the way she's been talking; helpful, no? )

Any other suggestions? You guys have been very helpful. I wouldn't have found Moby.com otherwise...

Paganitzu had "Alabama Smith" as the lead character, and you went through Aztec or Egyptian tombs. Lots of puzzles in the game.

I don't think Paganitzu is right.

Anyone else? I'm real close to giving up ;)
