OT: Gears of War 2? Or Call of Duty: World at War?

im about to go out and get Xbox 360..i have money for one game, and its down to gears 2, and CoD:WAW....

I'm leaning towards gears, but all of my friends have COD5 live, and I've been wanting to play them..i've played gears of war 2 twice, and i love it. But everyone's waiting for me to play them in CoD.

which should i get? which is more fun?

Both are great games, you can't go wrong with either one. I'm sure you know a lot about them already, but gears is a third person shooter, and Call of Duty, like the title suggests is a war game.

As much as i enjoy world at war i think modern warfare was a much better game.

For the second part, Halo 3 would work best.

I would go Gears. I recently bought Gears of War 1, and despite being a very short campaign it was a great game.

My next $60 game purchase will most likely either be Gears of War 2 or CoD 4. For such a short game the first GoW was highly entertaining.

if your getting the game for online i would definetely go with cod. Online on gears takes forever to find a game. The cod campaign mode sucked in my opinion. and have only just started gears campaign but it looks good.

I've had both for a few weeks now and I will say that GOW2 is very entertaining but I can see it becoming boring after awhile. While on COD Modern Warefare(COD4) was a much better game than WaW(COD5).

While both games are fun, to me personally, there is no competetive edge. If you want competetiveness, get Halo 3. If you want a fun game to play with friends, get Gears 2, CoD 5, or even CoD 4. I think out of the last 3, CoD 4 is the best, but I think you should CoD 5 since your friends are all playing it.

That's only because Gears takes into account TrueSkill, in other words, matches you up with people your own skill level. In COD, a level 5 can be matched with a level 65, and get demolished.

Halo 3 is easily the greatest game to hit consoles since the original Zelda (yeah, the GREATEST Nintendo game ever).

And COD 4 blows COD 5 out of the water.
