OT: Highest bowling score ever?

I don't bowl too often, but I average around 120. My high is around 155.

I was quite the phenom as a youth. I grew up in a bowling alley(literally) and by the time I was in 8'th grade, I was bowling varsity with a 180+/- average. I peaked in my 12'th grade year with a 215+/- average and 2 sanctioned 290 games as well as a 780 tripple. By the time I was 22, I was bowling in a few different leagues with a varying average between the houses in the range(s) of 210 - 225.

I wound up quitting around this time, simply because I no longer enjoyed it. I would get absurdly mad if I "only" bowled a 210. It was no longer fun and I just put my ball away... I've never gone back to it eithor, well..., never more than a game here or there. In which case, I can still average 200+ with litle effort.

Bowling was and will always be in my blood.


On a side note, I have thrown dozens of 300 games in practice and non sanctioned leagues. It just always escaped me when it counted as I have quite a few sanctioned 290+ games.. Some day I hope to join a league and simply bowl for fun again, like when I was a young lad.

Also, I really like the Wii bowling!

I've bowled in a league for 7 years now (with MU Chuckwagon). I started as a 122 average bowler and have improved every year. As of Monday night, I average 181. My highest game ever is a 275 (last year), I've bowled in the 260's several times.

We have a guy on our team who averages 220, and he's not even the best in the league. There's a giy who averages 235+. He really has no business in a 210-handicap league.

I bowled in high school by throwing the ball with two hands down the lane in high school. Bowling is very bad for your throwing arm, especially if you add any spin to the ball. My highest is about 160ish

Mid 150s is my high, my 2nd high is 116. If I bowl three games, I'm lucky to break 100 once.

It never effected me as I was a dominant pitcher as well.

I avg between 220 and 229 in all my leagues. I have four 300 games and six 800 series , 802,803,804,814,817 and 821. On the wii of course 10 pin high is 223 and I bowled a 188 when I was 12 in Duck pin

ive bowled for many years but gave it up 5 years ago.
when i quit i avg about 210 and had the distinction
of never bowling 300, but shooting 805 in league play.
an 800 series is about 4x harder than a 300 game.
my last game i had the 1st 11 which gave me 800 with count
and on the last ball i left a stone 9 pin for 299-805.
we won the league that night, but still a bitter pill to swallow.
i had the gold ring made for the 805 series.

Bowled a 279....one lousy 10 pin away from a 300....luckily it happened in the 3rd frame so there wasn't any pressure in the tenth.

in ten pin i am about a 200...

although up here in the northeast we do candlepins. my highest one string is 156.

i even have my own balls....
