3-4 inches of snow here in Hickory, NC. My dog Lou doesn't know what to think.

Our local low A team does very well, especially on "Thirsty Thursday" but I personally don't want to see a MLB team in NC (I truly don't think we could support it). How could you want a MLB team when you have the Bobcats? :| They are like an NBA team for washed up Tarholes.

Where do you live abncollectsautos?

I believe the correct spelling is Tarheels. :-)

Oh, it is. Most Carolina fans didn't go to college so I didn't think anyone would catch it. :o Spoke too early, the Pack is jumping all over my Blue Devils (and no I wasn't start enough to go to Duke, only ASU).

UofO,
It's about 22 degrees here in Western NC right now. The wind makes it feel a lot worse.

I am a Tarheel fan by proxy only (grew up in Chapel Hill). I went to UNCC. And, don't feel bad about Ap State - their football team is better than Duke and Carolina's! :D

Its about 18 degrees here now. Luckily its not windy. The snow went through about 6:30 this evening and it was pretty. I did manage to make it out to Walmart earlier in the afternoon and the roads were kinda nasty. I would say we got between 4-6 inches here.

Ahhhh, what a great snowfall it was!

I went to Duke ('08). I'm from CLT and my bro is at UNCC. And I have to disagree about the football. App plays in D2 (or whatever they want to call it now) for a reason. Don't even bring up the Michigan game, that was luck, plus Michigan sucked. They would have gotten beat by Duke and UNC this year. By the way, Coach Cut really has Duke on the rise. Should have been bowl eligible this year if not for the few bad losses/should have won games that were oh so common in the Ted Roof era.

OK, let me break it down for you and maybe you guys can equate.

Getting snowfall like this is kinda like opening up a box of Bowman Chrome Draft and hitting a superfractor auto of THE guy of that years draft. Its also like pulling a Babe Ruth cut sig out of a .99 cent pack of cards at Target. Or its kinda like finding the golden ticket in a Wonka Bar. It happens but it is SUPER rare.

Here are some more pictures from today!

You guys got all the snow they thought we might get here in Winston-Salem. We got nothing. Fine by me, I had all the snow I needed going to college in Chicago.

By the way. The NC baseball team was going to be the Twins moving from MIN back when they were talking about moving, and having disputes about building a new stadium. Also, they were going to move here to Kernersville which is between Winston-Salem and Greensboro on I-40 to try and draw both cities. The whole thing got shot down because a 1% increase in tax on dining to build a stadium didn't pass a vote here in Forsyth County. If it did I think they were seriously going to move.

Correct. Jefferson Pilot even offered to donate the land necessary to build the stadium on. I believe the bond referendum was even shot down in Guilford County as well. I really think it would have struggled had the Twinkies moved to the area. I just don't see how they would fill the seats. People love baseball in NC but I just think its not ready.

Brian where is your I<3FCB sign?!

I left it at the house. LOL. Nah, I got called into work (side job) and decided to document the trip. The wife wanted to go, even though she felt horrible so she tagged along. We stopped at the waterfront so we could get a few quick photos for the scrap book.

I think it could have worked if it were the Twins. Just based off the fact that the Twins since that period have been fairly successful. It wouldn't have been like TB where they struggled for so long to get good. There are enough people in here in the Triad to make it work, but probably not for a struggling team.

Secondly, I think it would work because the main competition to the NBA, NHL, and NFL here in NC is college sports. During baseball season there isn't anything going on for the most part with college sports. It would be the only game in town during the summer outside of NASCAR. Which only happens twice here in NC now anyway.
