OT: Laid up in the hospital all weekend

So last night my acid reflux was so bad stomach acid came up to my mouth and took a breath while sleeping. The acid went into my lungs and my airway became restricted nit allowing to take a regular breath. EMTs rushed me to the hospital where I've been pumped full of drugs. Got a long day of tests tomorrow and may have to have stomach surgery to take care of this reflux. Needless to say I wil be spending slot if time here on the boards, passing the time away.

Let me know what your doctors say and what they want to do or what you have done. The same thing happens to me a few times a month. The acid is all in my nose and I can't take a breath, feels like I'm sufficating. I've had acid reflux since I was maybe 18-20. I'm 35 now. Anything you could tell me might make me go to my doctor about it to have it fixed. I would prefer to avoid surgery at all costs.

I have this happen to me and it has created sleep apnea . I take a acid reducer before bed and it has helped.

The only think I can say it is time to change your diet. I'm 46 and a change in diet has helped some what

They are putting me on nexium while I am here and you are right about the diet. It definitely time to make a change.

Nexium is the best thing but that does not rule out surgery since you have had what happened to you.
