Ill make a long story as short as possible here. I picked this Derek Carr 1/1 National VIP Prizm card up on the Bay the other day and it showed up last night. here is the auction. Sorry didn't take a picture when I got it

I figured when I got the item I would remove the card and put it in a sleeve and top loader and have a cool 1/1. Not that I don't think the pass was cool and all but I preferred to have the card in a case. Should be simple I thought..
When I got the card I noticed it looked like the card had already been attempted to be removed from the exterior pass but the process was stopped as the left side of the card was slightly lifted. So i took a closer look at the card and noticed that the top was encapsulated in a plastic laminate that I figured went all around the card. I couldn't see the back because as you see in the picture the back is the pass. Anyway i tried to just remove the card but it was glued on like an SOB and wasn't coming off. So i cut around the card and worked tediously to get the back of the card unglued off the back. That is when i noticed the laminate was only on the front of the card. At this point I had to just get the card off because now the pass didn't look so good
I was able to get the card finally detached from the pass but now the card had the glue stuck to the back of the card. :-x. I was able to clean the glue off but then I noticed the laminate on the front was coming more off the card. :-( so i figured what the heck and slowly started to pull the laminate off the front. It looked crappy anyway since it didn't encapsulate the whole card. Everything was going great til I got to the VIP stamp, &*%*%&*(% as i pulled the laminate off some of the stamp foil came up with the laminate. Anyway here is what it looks like now. Still think it is a cool piece and looks fine IMO but I would NOT recommend doing what I did. And all in all happy to have it in my collection but hopefully this saves anyone from making the same mistake. UGGHHHH BTW the last photo shows the 1 of 1 and print is still on the card just not as bold
