hey guys

those of you that know me know that my gf works at a riverboat casino just outside of chicago. yesterday i get a text message while im at work from her saying "you will never guess who i just met". well before i was a cop i worked at the boats as a table games dealer and i met anyone from MJ to bryce drew to scottie pippen to even ron jeremy (yes THAT ron jeremy LOL) so i figured i could only imagine who...

she then proceeds to tell me that is was none other than paul pierce. naturally i asked did you get his auto? lol (i know the boats rules and regulations, most workers can only make small talk and autos are out of the question unless the player offers or you are like one of the general managers...). so anyways she doesnt miss a beat and she says no i didnt get his auto but he did give me a hug. i was like damn how am i supposed to compete with that? lol

my main point to posting this is simple...she told me in the five or so minutes that she spoke with him he is absolutely without a doubt "one of the nicest people she has ever met". she said he did not even act like a celebrity or have that aura that all should know who he is and you should do anything for him at the drop of a hat. ive always been a fan of pierce (of course im a bulls fan but i respect how good he is) but now it even makes me like him more that he is really that cool of a person!! (his friend he had with him was a different story...it was some guy he mustve known from the old neighborhood or something but he was just a total tool to everyone. he was the "diva" of the two and had no problem throwing around pierce's money or yelling at people when he wanted his way while pierce just sat back and told him to relax. too bad he has a d-bag friend but at least pierce keeps him in check.

...and incase any of you were wondering he was playing blackjack as his game of choice...

...and yes, my gf wants to start a PC of paul pierce for herself now...she stole his cards out of my collection already lol

My father used to work for the Celtics, and I can attest to the fact that Pierce is a good guy. All these guys are different when they meet strangers, but he's pretty genuine for a professional athlete.

Yup,

A close family friend does MRI's for the Clippers/Lakers. When I was big into IP auto's I would attend games and go into the back with him after games. Would meet all sorts of players TMAC, VC, etc. I can say Pierce was the nicest guy I ever met. When he was signing my basketball he was asking how I was doing in school, if I played ETC. Most players rushed through, but Pierce took time, at a away game to sit and talk. Was pretty cool guy IMO. BTW, second was Grant Hill. He is a class act too. Kobe was also super nice back in those days, almost everyone hated him around that time, but I was still a fan.

BlackJack is my game of choice and I think it's cool that your gf is a dealer. PM your address and I'll get some Paul Pierce out to her.

wow that is cool being that close to both teams like that! well it sucks that it is mainly when a player is presumed to be injured (hence the MRI) but still very cool! when i was in high school i always wanted to meet grant hill, thats great to hear he is a nice guy...hopefully one day he will come to a chicago convention and sign autos.

Great little read and that is very good to hear. I would have loved to be there.

ty i just had to share it with all of you guys to attest to what a great guy he is...especially since we all know there are way too many jerk athletes out there. trust me, i wish i was there too! the last recent athletes i met at that casino were chris duhon (he was playing blackjack), gale sayers (he was just hanging out signing autos) and the fridge (william perry) who was playing slots. i love going to the casinos...you never know who you will run into!
