So, he's pulled out of yet another fight.

Why does anyone waste their time on this disappointment of a human being???

Screw him!

Jay Silva to replace him…

- According to Josh Gross, Paulo Filho (18-1 MMA, 0-0 BFC) is out of his Bellator 18 Superfight with Bellator middleweight champ Hector Lombard (24-2-1 MMA, 3-0 BFC). Jay Silva (5-3 MMA, 0-0 BFC) will replace Filho in the non-title main event. Here is what Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney had to say about the fight falling apart…

"We worked very hard for two months to make this work and were unable to. I have a lot of respect for Paulo as a fighter and wish him well."

Maybe that bolded part is code for "He couldn't pass a drug test, yet again."

Maybe but you act like the roids are his biggest problem when hes actually a drug addict (pain killers IIRC).

Hence his crappy performance vs Sonnen when in actuality he would steamroll that guy 7 days a week ad twice on sundays if he were "healthy".

Filho is a wonderful talent. Make no mistake about it. But kind of like Karo, he wont reach his potential unless hes healthy and drug free.

I can't believe I am defending Paulo Filho here, but...

It was because of a clerical error. Sure, we don't know by who, but it wasn't drugs, PED's, or bat-**** craziness.

Rebney would not explain why Filho was forced off the card. Reports last week indicated that Filho was having a hard time getting a U.S. visa, but Rebney told MMA Junkie late last week that Filho's issues had been resolved.

However, Filho told GracieMag.com that the organization didn't file his paperwork in a timely manner:

"It seems the event took too long in sending out the letter I needed to present at the consulate and I'm not sure but it could be there was some kind of failure on the part of my managers. So, I won't get my visa in time. I'm really upset because I've been training a lot. I did everything just right; I don't know what to say....It got me down, but I'm not going to stop training. Something good will turn up."

LOL, you are ruthless. Geez.

I can tell you the visa issues are big deal and can cause many problems for a return to the US, especially in Brazil. My teacher has been stuck in Brazil for over a year, because Brazil will not renew his visa. He has applied 4 times at 4 different locations, and he was denied every time. He's a pretty big name in Fortaleza (he owns 20+ schools with Marcus Aurelio), so they view him as someone they don't want to leave the country.

Visa issues are real Sam, and they suck. For once, I believe Filho on this one.
