Paypal question, before I use my Ebay coupon

I got one of those ebay coupons through paypal but it seems like it might not be legit. Im not seeing it in my ebay messages and the emails actually say that its not affiliated with Ebay so I wont see anything on Ebay about it. I called Paypal about a week and a half ago and they had me forward it to [email protected] . The person on the phone told me within 15 minutes I should see something. Never got a reply. The next day emailed it again and nothing that day. About 3-4 days later I called again and say I never got a reply. The rep told me they had a lot of emails but if I sent it right now she could bump me up and have a reply sent immediately. Forward to today I still have received nothing from them. the message has been forwarded to [email protected] about 10 times in total. So now Im wondering, f you dont get a reply does that mean its legit? Id like to use the coupon if it is legit but dont want to risk losing my CC info and getting hacked or whatever.

if it's only one of those 10 character codes that you enter at the checkout I don't think you'll get info stolen. I mean won't it say if the coupon was accepted or denied before you move to paypal? Unless you're getting redirected to a site other than ebay/paypal I wouldn't worry.

at this point i'm inclined to say that it is not legit and would just trash it and move on. just as the old saying goes, if it sounds to good to be true, it most likely is.
